why is there a glass wall between men and women in IT?
middle of the first quarter of the 21C why is it they won't listen?
I lead a IT development team, I call one of team members to tell everyone that the meeting will be 10mins later instead he started it early didn't tell me then told my boss.
Aibu to be pissed how often this happens?

That sounds like a management issue (yours if you are line managing this bloke), nothing to do with any "glass wall".
I speak as an ex IT manager.

Hmmn YANBU. If you listen to young guys of working age talking, they can be frighteningly arrogant and dismissive of female bosses. IMHO its a behavioural problem, which should be addressed as a lack of respect for fellow employees.

27 years working in "Enterprise Software Development" 33 year writing software and its as tiresome and painful as it ever was, seeing the general attitude to women in IT. The new young bloods who are up and coming "cockstars" still have a particularly sad attitude and behaviour. But hey, just think they'll be the ones complained about in the dating threads.

I can't say this is a problem I've ever had, and I've been in IT for 15 years now. The kind of cocky young shithead that behaves like this will behave equally badly towards older colleagues, just because they are old. Since you are this guy's boss, OP, I'd be pulling him up on his behaviour at his next review/appraisal, on the grounds that it is simply unprofessional. He has failed to manage a very basic piece of communication (OK, we both know it was intentional and meant to undermine you) and so obviously is not up to scratch.
