To stay in bed all day?

My plan is to do nothing and not get up. I'm not particularly well with a chest infection. The Ds are big enough to do their own thing. H will possibly do some cleaning later and will do the shopping and stuff.

So why do I feel all restless and decadent and time wastery?

And I'm a bit bored. What should I do?

I have never been able to do that. It just seems such a waste of a day. Enjoy it if you do though.

I have nothing I need to do.

But it's quite nice and autumnal outside. But I keep coughing and then retching. And my lungs hurt.

I might go to church and then back to bed.

I did that only when I had the real flu and slept for 3 days and 3 nights, just getting up during the day to have a cuppa and then back to bed where I zonked out each time. I was on my own.
Otherwise I couldn't just lie in bed awake all day.

MuffCakes · 03/11/2013 11:02

I'm in bed Mning and FBing, I need to get up and tidy up and cook dinner but right now I'm just chilling. I love my bed.

Artandco · 03/11/2013 11:05

Don't Go to church if your coughing and retching! You're just going to spread germs

Stay in bed, read a book, research a holiday, look up christmas ideas , sleep

THe internet is your friend. One day spent totally at rest in the warm will help you get better quicker. It is absolutely the right choice so enjoy it!

Shallistopnow · 03/11/2013 11:41

I'd do it even if I wasn't ill.

That said, a gentle walk in the fresh air would do you good.

With a chest infection? Are you kidding? Both the physical exertion and the cold air are not nice when you've got a chest infection.

I've just phoned in to work sick (for tomorrow). Haven't done such a thing for many years. And only then because I broke my finger (need my hands for my job).

I've been in bed. Done some writing for something I promised to do ages ago. Bored now.

In this circumstance, I would move my duvet to the sofa and have a tv marathon.

LittleprincessinGOLDrocks · 03/11/2013 14:56

As someone who is recovering from surgery (been home since Friday night) can I recommend a nice cuppa and back to back trashy TV?
I currently have heating on full whack, fluffy socks and fluffy slippers on for extra toasty comfort. Watching Cagney and Lacey reruns back to back. I can highly recommend it.
Get well soon x

kennyp · 03/11/2013 14:58

when i am feeling awful (mentally or ill-y) a day in bed is the best thing for me. i last as long as i can with no screens, no books, no phone, no texting, nothing. i read about it (lying in bed doing NOTHING) in superwoman by shirley conran (?) - it words wonders for me. so stay there!!!!!!! enjoy it and remember it :O)

cupcakeicing · 03/11/2013 15:04

YANBU. I would do it. I have small one as well as big so have to get up but laze about on couch and do bare minimum when I am ill. I sometimes go back to bed if hubby in or kids at school and i feel ill. Why not?
