..that my DD (3.5) found in TK Maxx about a month ago...she saw it and has not stopped mentioning since - we decided to ignore at the time, didn't even look at what she had commented on and hoped she would forget all about it, along with all the other things she sees in shops and comments on and promptly forgets - however the bloody thing is now the only thing on her xmas letter to Santa and not to be found in TK Maxx..She has told EVERYONE we have met she is getting one from Santa!

We have searched everywhere and nothing - so I am shamelessly now AIBU'ing in the hope of someone telling me I am BU and just stop looking, just get her a playmobile swimming pool cause they are on the xmas bargain thread and I want one cause of the working shower

OR find me a bloody dolly with a camera!

Was it a proper doll or playmobil?
We have a playmobil mum with a camera?

Picturesinthefirelight · 29/10/2013 22:49

I also found a link to a couple of Barbie ones.

iggymama · 29/10/2013 22:50

There is also a Barbie fashion photographer doll carrying a wee camera or Barbire video girl which is a doll with built in camera.

Sorry don't know how to do a link on my tablet.

Longdistance · 29/10/2013 22:51

Have you looked on Amazon yet?

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 22:57

We have searched Amazon, Smyths, Argos, Ebay and the internet generally. I showed her some Barbies and asked if they were like the Dolly, however she said no. Playmobil could be an option, she has some already, not sure she would call them 'dollies' though...worth a try!

The video girl barbies are a bit weird! Hope it's not that!

iggy will have a look for the barbie fashion photographer now, thanks.

Aaargh, DH has just thrown into the mix that she told him the dolly had a little girl!

Didn't Boots used to sell a doll that had a camera? She was about 30cms tall and was a soft toy. I think she was supposed to be an explorer and was aimed at a fairly young child (age 3 to 4?).

I may be talking complete rubbish...

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 23:08

Thanks dame nothing on the webshite...

DH has found a pic of a barbie fashion photographer, it has a picture of a small barbie on the box, which could conceivably be the 'little girl'...

Oh god, going to have to give into the barbies already aren't I? I hoped I could put it off a few years....

Buy the playmobil swimming pool instead (the working shower is awesome) ds2 got it for hos birthday last week. Only downside is they get a bit excited and we've had a couple of spills on the carpet.

Would it have been Dora the fucking explorer?

DreaduCated · 29/10/2013 23:18

Could it have been Dora?

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 23:25

I am loving the pool iam but yes, I think the potential for water damage is huge, I spent the afternoon cleaning up after DD helped with the washing up...she loves water!

I think we might have found it! The end of my hopes of DD being a feminist...

Glad it isn't Dora the fucking explorer, annoys me more than barbie!

However....We have a plan to tell her Santa has asked for a picture in her letter, we will show her and print the pic to add to the letter to send this week.

Hopefully the one..we might spoil her and get the pool too...

This is the stuff nightmares are made of but it sounds scarily close

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 23:29

That Monster high thing is very odd...and a bit wrong, can't work out of better than Barbie, probably though!

I did see it but I think she would have mentioned it being like a cat, she is cat obsessed as we have new kittens. Also the 'little girl' thing has thrown us a bit!

I really should pay more attention to my child shouldn't I?

To be fair, most of the mess occcured when ds1 (9) decided to pour a cup of water down the slide to 'make it more fun' Hmm as your dd is only small, she may not do that!

That said, she's more likely to just splash/spill it than my 3.

buy it for yourself

Hope that you've found the right toy,.and that your dd is happy :)

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 23:31

Oh dear god bea I will not sleep tonight! Santa will have run out if that is it!!
They do get some odd shit in TK Maxx though...

I'm just marking place to see if you find it!

missmakesstuff · 29/10/2013 23:35

'Take a photo with the camera provided. Each time it flashes, Suzy will change her pose. The heart necklace is magical. point the camera at the heart press the flash then Suzy will change her pose. She moves all by herself into lots of different poses.'

Aargh.......it's this bit.. She moves all by herself

Thanks all - think the Barbie friends thing is possibly it - I do recall out of the corner of my eye seeing Barbie and dragging her away walking off...

The playmobile is far better, obviously! I have now spent half the evening looking at all the playsets...loving the penguin pool too!

OP posts:
BeaWheesht · 29/10/2013 23:57

I so hope it's Suzy

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/10/2013 01:06

damejudy are you talking about Hiking Heidi? This one (slightly better picture)?

That's a blast from the past, I had one of those!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 30/10/2013 01:08

This is the one I had. I used to love her.

justalilmummy · 30/10/2013 01:13

Dont get the playmobil swimming pool I got it the damn thing falls apart every 5 mins and the little pieces are nowhere to be seen!

missmakesstuff · 30/10/2013 07:01

The doll you are linking to is much nicer than a Barbie - however we have success! I showed DD the picture and told her we needed to put a picture in the letter and it is the right one!

I am so relieved, especially as we had already ordered some lego - it didn't arrive, the company (letterbox) lost the order, they are still advertising it at sale price but have stopped their sale, so I can't get that - so Barbie it is!

Thanks all for your help.
