His breadth of knowledge is fabulous and I cannot help reading his posts even when the subject being discussed is irrelevant to me. Surely I'm not the only Pigletjohn groupie!

Oh and YY to Kitten for her dedication to the weather Smile

MissBetseyTrotwood · 28/10/2013 21:51

admission et al on the school appeals threads too.

PigletJohn · 28/10/2013 21:51

I haven't had so many lady admirers since I left the Chippendales.

MrsBennetsEldest · 28/10/2013 21:54

So, what do you do in RL Pigletjohn?

OP posts:
WildThongsHeartString · 28/10/2013 21:56

Ahem, call out charge? To Scotland!?

SomethingOnce · 28/10/2013 21:59

Tell us more about yourself, PJ [flutters eyelids]

PigletJohn · 28/10/2013 22:15

I work for the Scottish Tourist Board.

They pay me a thousand pounds a week, and all I have to do is swim up and down Loch Ness.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 28/10/2013 22:20

Another groupy here. Love PJ threads. I do love DH though!

PigletJohn - can I ask hiw you found your way onto Mumsnet?

PigletJohn · 29/10/2013 00:48

I can't remember now. I probably saw it mentioned in a newspaper or something. I am involved in another couple of advice websites. I probably have a psychological defect that makes me try to be helpful.

I expect I started by extolling the virtues of the UK 3-pin fused plug (do your own search)

sockgate · 29/10/2013 00:53

whenever I see a thread that involves wet washing and radiators, I await your appearance. I think MN should give you your own DIY gavel for such moments!

(And thank you so much for tumble drier advice. I used your arguments to convince DH and it is now our favourite household item, slightly winning over the dishwasher.)

PigletJohn · 29/10/2013 01:39

like this from April 2011?

"Without wishing to sound unhelpful, if you continue to drape wet washing about your house, it will always be damp and no-one can help you. You might as well throw buckets of water at the walls.

Jux · 29/10/2013 02:09

I would. Twice.

VoodooHexDoll · 29/10/2013 02:23

Pj how old are you?

You come across as wise and funny and I have a mental picture of you in your 50s with a cute smile and graying hair. Am I wrong? Blush

CarlaBrooni · 29/10/2013 03:47

PigletJohn - I also appreciate all your replies and my DH laughs when I say that "Piglet John says....."

Why did you pick your name? Is it because piglets are cute??

knittedslippersx3 · 29/10/2013 04:06

I need me a bit of Piglet too, he's fab!Smile

Alwayscheerful · 29/10/2013 04:25

I have big love for PJ.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 29/10/2013 06:19

You are very helpful. I have seriously learned a lot ofveryuseful info re boilers from you

Shakey1500 · 29/10/2013 06:26

What's the tumble drier advice?

neepsandtatties · 29/10/2013 07:20

When flummoxed with a DIY conundrum, my DH says 'we could ask PigletJohn on your mumsnet thing'.

gingerbreadshoes · 29/10/2013 07:33

I would like my next dp to have pigletjohns qualities with regards to diy and plumbing. So pigletjohn, as you are indeed already taken by many a mnetter do you have an equally clever db or ds you could send my way please? Grin

Might you consider running a Mumsnet Academy course PigletJohn? Or designing one if doing the teaching isn't your thing?

echt · 29/10/2013 07:48

All this time I thought PigletJohn was a woman.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/10/2013 07:54

Nah, his wife's probably used to it to the point of being blasé.

Shakey the tumble drier advice is usually use one rather than draping wet washing everywhere & making the house damp.

Although I'd like to know why condenser driers are more energy efficient than vented. I'm sure I read on here it was the other way around.

Alwayscheerful · 29/10/2013 07:54

Which part of the country does he reside in?
