Carphone Warehouse have apparently launched a 'tablet war' with other retailers by 'slashing' the price of it's 7" Acora Tablet from £99 to £49

Except when I purchased the exact same model in July for DD2 is WAS £49 ...I went to buy it for DD1 in Sept and it was still £49 ...when I went back to actually adding it to my basket and paying just before October the price had doubled ... 3 weeks later they have slashed it Hmm

Not a big deal but I feel sorry for anyone who got it at £99

That said it's a great deal for £49...but that's what it's worth

Oh, interesting! Thanks for posting!

It's good though, for £49? Was thinking of getting one for my DDad.

gordyslovesheep · 25/10/2013 22:24

yes it's fine - DD2 uses it for games and such - it's nothing fancy but it does the job

It's a bit like the furniture stores and their never-ending 'sales' Hmm. When they say 'sale price £500, after sale price £1500' but they ALWAYS have a sodding sale on! Or after the 'sale' the item disappears anyway, meaning that it was only ever worth the 'sale' price to begin with!

SweetSkull · 25/10/2013 22:25

How cheeky!

gordyslovesheep · 25/10/2013 22:26

they have obviously done a big press release about it as well because it was in the paper - CPW 'Launches price war' cheeky buggers

Do they have to follow the same selling rules as supermarkets because they have certain rules such as the item needs to have been sold at the more expensive price for so many days (28 days i think).

CailinDana · 25/10/2013 22:46

Yeah they do Nickname. As the OP said they jacked the price up to 99 for a month then "slashed" it back to the actual price. Shops do it all the time.

MurderOfBanshees · 26/10/2013 05:48

Happens all the time. Always take this stuff with a pinch of salt.
