Bloody hell fireworks already??!!Argh!!!

Dh has taken DS2 up to bed (ds2 has autism and refuses to sleep without dh). He loves fireworks but the banging outside is going to stop him from getting to sleep. We are knackered, v stressful half term just finished and we prob have another few weeks of this now. November the 5th please!!

Fireworks are not just to celebrate Guy Fawke's Night.

They're used to celebrate all sorts of festivals.

It's annoying but somehow we all manage every year.

Hope it's not to bad for your DS and he can get some sleep.

we have a bonfire season here which runs from early/mid October all the way through until end of November. Its part of the traditions of the area. I love it, but can imagine that your circumstances would make it very stressful..

I do think it's ridiculous how long it goes on for. I love bonfire night - the fire, the fireworks, drying to suck as much warmth as possible from a flask, but for all that I do think that it should be limited in how long it should go on for. The date of a holiday itself and the closest weekend if it falls on a holiday would allow everybody to have a good time while minimising stress on the vulnerable, animals etc.
