Those in need at home instead of spending £££££££ on foreign aid and nuclear weapons program. This has probably been done to death but I can't get my head around it....ggggrrrrrrr!

Different needs though.

Foreign aid isn't actually altruistic (like anything any government would do would be!) its planned to ultimately improve either trade, stability where we need it, relationships with other countries etc etc. We aren't privy to the exact plans but I absolutely believe they exist.

Nuclear weapons, well while I hate hate hate that we have them, they are sadly there as a deterrent, if everyone has them then please god noone can use them.

Had you asked me about savings in public spending / buying the way government is run, then I might agree with you......

The government needs to kill a fair percentage of the population off because we're costing too much. Freezing people, starving them, allowing them to become homeless is all part of the plan

It's all to do with foreign relations and bringing in money that way.

Although I agree with you on the face of it - it's one of those things that's more complicated that it looks.

Lol hidden couldn't agree with you more. It saddens me that in this day and age people are having to resort to food banks. Should charity not begin at home???

I actually find it more offensive the money was spent illegally invading Iraq to prop up Blairs pension.

Foreign aid comes with all manner of conditions and much jumping through hoops. It really isn't given freely and it's not done to help people. Perish the thought.

It can come on the condition that the country buys british. Or gives contracts to british companies. Or enters into any number of agreements. It's also about control. Keep a country dependent on aid and you can control them.

Aid is really damaging in many ways. What's needed is free and fair trade. An end to exploitation.
