To ask if you remember this 1980s toy for making dens

When I was little we had these plastic tubes, bigger than empty kitchen rolls, and connecting joints and we slotted it all together and made brilliant dens and playhouses. There were even solid plastic panels so you could make tables, chairs and a roof.

What was it called? And can I still buy it?

Happy to buy used, but wouldn't know what to search for.

(not that I know what it was called anyway)

YES! Thanks so much Woolly. So excited. Thank you.

And yes it was awesome. Mum couldn't remember what it was called but is despatching Dad to the loft later to see if they have kept it for 25 years (quite possible).

Someone posted to ask about this about a week ago funnily enough. Can't remember which board it was on. Chat maybe?

Was thinking about this the other day. You could make climbing frames and beds and even put wheels on stuff.

fatpony · 17/10/2013 19:21

We used to have one in the 1980s called jumbo or jimbo, have never been able to find it. Was blue and then you had the connecting bits to make a joint. We loved it!

BrokenSunglasses · 17/10/2013 19:23

My school used to have some of that stuff, it was fab!

whois · 17/10/2013 19:24

I remember the red and black stuff! That was fun.

We stayed with someone last year who had some of this and the DCs loved it. You can still get it but it's pretty pricey I think. Check on ebay though and you might get lucky.
