AIBU to ask if I can borrow someone's cafe?!

I honestly don't know if I am or not.

I am doing a vintage fair in my town next month and the local newspaper wants to come and take our picture on monday, with assorted glasses/chinaware etc that I will be selling. The photographer wants us sat at a table with the stuff Hmm

I've just sold my dining room table on Fleabay and the bloke is collecting tomorrow!

There is a lovely cafe opened in the town and I vaguely know the woman who owns it. I was thinking of asking her if we could do the photos in her shop and then in return, on the day of the fair, I will recommend shoppers to visit her shop/post a link on our FB to her shop.

I feel awkward about asking stuff like this and I don't even know if it's totally unreasonable. Confused

I think it is perfectly fine given you're crediting her and she will be getting something out of it.

Just give her a ring and see what she says.

She can't lose. What a good idea.

Say "I am looking for a nice location to do the publicity- don't know if you'd be interested? we can profile the cafe at the same time"

Not "I screwed up, can you do me a massive favour and lend me your table"

She might take some leaflets too.

I would, I've never been in precisely that position, but I often borrow items from other groups and always give credit/ advertise that they have kindly donated/ lent us something. It works both ways. Fantastic publicity for her as well. Ask if the newspaper can credit her as well. Good luck

Ask her! Sounds like a win-win to me! Can you put up an advertising board in the pic or at the fair?
