to ask for quick advice re chicken!!!!!!!!!!

So i did the batch cooking thing - to be organised - but failed as left one of the chicken s out in cassrole dish overnight and didnt even see it until just in from work now!!!! Its been left out all night in a cool kitchen in a pot with lid ..safe to eat or bu to take the risk..????.used to be a veggie so not v well informed !!!!!imagine could heat thro on v hot but beilve chicken has its dangers ??? help please as have to go out shopping otherwise....thanks !!!

I would give it a sniff. If it smells OK, I'd nuke it and hope for the best.

I'd make sure it was really well heated through, but I would eat it, yes.

Make sure you heat thoroughly and it will be fine. It's been a pot with a sealed lid & the first time you cooked it would have killed all surface bacteria.

I am 99% sure you'd be fine, but i'm a right wuss about chicken and probably wouldn't eat it myself. Other meat, fine, but I just worry a lot about chicken

I'd definately eat it, just reheat very well - it should be piping hot and bubbling all the way through - at least ten minutes on full whack in a microwave, or ten minutes once at a high simmer on the hob.

I'm always forgetting to put stuff I have cooked in the fridge, chicken included. Always still eat it or freeze it. It will be fine. Unless your house is heated to subtropical temperatures like some people.

if it had been left overnight, then put in the fridge, no problem. If it was deep winter and there was no heating on all day, also no problem.

I would think twice about this though as it sounds like it has been out almost 24hrs? and if it was left to cool slowly in a warm oven, then left all night and all day, that's not good. Also, you cant just rely on it smelling, especially when there are other flavours in there - it will not automatically reek!
