I once saw a documentary of him in his home which was huge with a massively long drive. It was the first time I realised how mega rich these singers and TV celebs are. It's another world.

I like some of his songs, I love 'Patience', but he is so boring on X Factor.

In fact he helped me break my X Factor habit because I couldn't bear to listen to him any more. He's not an irritant like Cowell or Cole, he's just drony and dull.

oh no u guys r being unreasonable Gary has earned his rightful place on X factor. I grew up in the Take That, Boyzone & Backstreet Boys Era & although I was a more a Backstreet Boys followed closely by Boyzone fan I liked Take That songs too. Intact if my school Frieds came across this thread there would be a lot disapproval comments Grin

We'll forgive Mrs jayWink especially as he looks SO good with a few grey hairs

I Think he is aging much better than robbie williams who knew Robbie just looks Bleurgh these days

Gary has been a joke since the Frankie Cocozza debacle. It's not a genuine talent contest, I doubt anyone still believes that, it's a soap opera. It doesn't matter what his credentials are, he still has to say what the producers tell him to say!

He is utterly beige. Meh, meh and meh again. So long as you avoid brain rotting cack like X craptor, life will roll along beautifully, fragrantly, epically GB-free.

Mrsjay, Robbie lost it in about 1993. He's been a bloated disaster area ever since. Arrogant turd.

(And I LOVED 'old' TT)

He is a raging Tory though, which does put me off.

Oh. That puts a whole new slant on thingsAngry

He's a talentless, tax dodging, Tory and he's on X factor... I can't see what anyone would like about him.

Personally don't know him, won't judge him by X factor as It's not RL! I thought he was quite funny when bantering with (was it Joe?) last year. Always seemed down to earth type to me, and has done lot's in his time but as someone said ^^ it's not always published. I loved the song he did with the Commonwealth band and Military Wives.

I'm not really minded to love or hate him. But I do dislike it when he and other judges comment on acts or singers being 'the full package' or referencing their look. GB made it on talent alone. Why aren't people allowed to anymore?
Almost all the final 12 this year seem extraordinarily talented to me this year but it's quite predictable who'll get booted.

Me2Me2 · 13/10/2013 17:23

A bit off topic. sorry!

Report
valiumredhead · 13/10/2013 17:29

No GB didn't mange it on talent alone, they all had distinctive looks that were 'manufactured' to appeal to the masses.

I instantly dislike anyone rich who is too greedy to pay taxes tbh.

YABU.

I love GB!!!!

I was an original TT'er & adored him from the beginning.

Last yr dh surprised me with tickets to his solo gig & we had an absolute ball!!! He was lovely, genuinely nice & came across as a guy id love to have on my side.

He thanked the audience for coming, said he knew the tickets & parking & ice-cream @ half time meant an expensive night out, but said he was very grateful - he even apologised to the husbands who had been 'dragged' along, saying he'd had to take his wife to see Michael Buble so could sympathise.

Leave him alone.

Dull. His songs are dull. He makes me want to fall asleep.

He reminds me of Val Doonican (jumper-wearing middle of the road singer, for those of you not ancient like me!) except Mr B is, as has been pointed out, full of his own self-importance and is smug too. And I hate his accent, sorry, and especially the way he says "You done brilliant."(It's 'brilliantLY', Gaz.)

Apart from that he's OK Grin

valium GB got into TT because he's a good musician and can sing. Whereas jason and howard, I'm guessing, were in it more for looks and dancing.
From there the group was styled

I didn't love TT that much at the time (though we did watch their dance vid every lunch break at school...) but now when I look back on them and hear the songs I think they were totally brilliant.
