Long story short, I work part time for the national minimum wage. Over the past 10 months I have had 2 performance reviews, both excellent and each resulting in an 8p an hour pay rise, putting me 16p an hour above the NMW.
The recent rise in NMW (12p/hr) has not been applied to my wages because of it, leaving me only 4p an hour over it.
I am a bit
over this as the increases were due to my good performance which seems not to be recognised now. FWIW my last PR was over 100 days late and my pay rise was not back dated- I have actually only had it for about 8 weeks.
Should I mention it as I believe it's only really a good will gesture that would secure me the 12p rise? I actually have it quite cushy WRT my hours and time off so I am loathe to rock the boat too much but think it's really a point of principal (it's the principal more than the money that irks me)
Or should I just suck it up and smile sweetly for a quiet life? I don't want to seem like a citrus titted bitch if everyone else thinks I am wrong :o
