It's worse when they have, though, because it seems massively insensitive to point it out to the OP. So they're grieving about their dog being run over, add that the person who ran it over was living on benefits, and you can't say 'I get that you're upset about your dog, but are you seriously saying that running over your dog would have been ok if a naice middle class professional had done it?' without looking like a complete twunt.
