To think Gambado (and play centres in general) is extortionate?

Nannying this weekend, three kids and we're spending the morning at Gambado in Chelsea. It's great but it cost us £34 - just for entry! They charged £4 for me and £9-£11 for the kids! For just two hours, that seems ridiculous!
So expensive!!!

Don't they have car rides and bumper cars
If you think you'd spend £2 for that at the fair, it's not priced badly

That's just shy of £6 per hour per child. That doesn't sound too bad but go for a tramp in the woods if you want cheaper way to tire kids out.

If you go regularly it is worth checking out if they do a nanny membership. Our local Gambados does one for childminders, and it's only £175 for the whole year. Given that it lets DH (the CM!) take in up to 5 at a time and have 10 on the membership it's a lifesaver.

I agree it does seem expensive. However even at that charge I'm not sure that soft plays make a huge amount of profit so they probably have to charge that to keep going.

Urigellar - where did you get £6 a child from? It was £11 for the 3 and 10 year old, £9 for the 2 year old.

That's our local one. The price is one of the reasons we rarely go. The food is horrid, although party food is a higher standard. they do have bumper cars. I always find them disorganized at the front desk and the place us packed. For what it is I think really extortionate, and to have to pay for the adult as well to just sit there is so bad.
