to be feeling sorry for myself (fairly lighthearted!)

Gah! Went for some blood tests recently just for a check up thing they are doing in our area for people of a "certain age". A few days later I got a pain in my armpit which I put down to maybe having a spot or ingrown hair. Pain in my arm grew worse and worse from armpit to elbow. I didn't say anything to the nurse when I went to get my results (perfectly healthy!) but the following day a red line had appeared on my arm. Got an emergency appointment at the doctors - he diagnosed an infection caused by the blood being taken!! Apparently there is a one in ten thousand chance of it happening so it would be bloody me wouldn't it??

The surgery are apparently investigating to ensure they've followed all procedures - I've told them I don't hold a grudge but do expect red carpet treatment and a chocolate biscuit in future Grin

I'm on really strong antibiotics which have made me feel sick. And I think I'm getting thrush. And on top of all that I was doing dds hair earlier and moved funny and now I've hurt my back and cant move.

So AIBU to be sitting here feeling very sorry for myself or should I slap myself round the face and get on with it all???

oh! I think you are allowed to feel sorry for yourself! :)

Oh feeling sorry for yourself is certainly required here. Is your daughter old enough to make you a cup of tea? Grin

Definitely allowed to feel sorry for yourself, but do you mind if I join the pity party?

I've managed to cut my gum and not notice, and now I think its infected. All my jaw is achey, and my ear and eye socket. I'm doing hot salt washes and rinsing with chlorexadine, and just hoping it passes cos I can't afford to take time off work :(

Can I join in? On my own with both kids today as DH has gone to an away match (4 hours away!) and won't be home til late. I had to go and let some workmen in at work at 5.30am. And I'm taking both kids to a party this afternoon at soft play. On my own. Today already feels about a week long!

And of course, get well soon Ramona! Xx
