To feel sorry for myself because I have a bad sleeper

I know he isn't that bad but just when we think it's sorted, something else crops up and it's bad again.

Recently he has cut 4 molars so that has had him awake because he's in pain. We had one week of good sleep and the happy child that goes with it and last night we had a middle of the night party. I expect this is developmental because he seems to be chatting constantly.

I just wish that he was a good sleeper. We do everything 'right' but sometimes it is just down to their nature and by nature he is a bad sleeper unless all of the planets are in line.

Moan over.

YANBU.

I have two bad sleepers! Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse with DC1, I went and had DC2 and, yep, worse.

Still, at least we have BrewWine and Biscuit to keep us going, eh?

Zzzzzzzzz

Poppy don't say that - I have an insomniac 18mth old, and I'm pregnant, so no caffeine or booze... Oh god, and the 'don't say that' was only in response to your wine and tea - just reread the bit about your second child being worse... What was I thinking?!

Yanbu. My 7mo is going through a hideous patch at the moment, but almost the worst thing is when she does finally fall asleep for several hours at a time, but I can't because I'm buzzing from having been woken up every hour.

It's true, you do forget. Ds1 was a pretty awful sleeper but he finally started sleeping through at 22 months. We started trying for dc2 about 5 months after that when the memories had faded... ds2 is only 2 weeks old so no idea yet whether he will be a good sleeper or not, but the newborn sleep deprivation is wrecking me already! Why did we think this was a good idea...

No, YANBU, I feel sorry for you too.

My DD was pure hell for years and she's not great at going to sleep now, although now she's fine once asleep.

My DS (dc2) was wonderful and I thanked God every time I put him down in his cot and walked out until morning. Fervently.

PoppyWearer · 24/09/2013 21:59

My DC2 is phenomenally cute though!

Yanbu but I feel the need to join you in feeling sorry for myself too!

My nearly 19 month old ds has never slept through. between 7-8 months old he slept for 5 hours for a few nights....total long lie in that was!

He is teething just now so sleeping even less than usual and I wotk full time...very tired these days Sad
