Dh just in from work, complaining about d&v bug doing the rounds, dmil is due to visit any minute, we havent seen her in about 3 weeks as she was on holidays, dh says dmil has it too, I said she shouldn't visit us and kids as toddler might get it, dh says ah mam is sure she got it in holidays from rich food and is fine now, and is going to call soon, aagghh, aibu not to welcome with open arms a possible d&v big into the house, should I kill dmil first if she does call with it, or dh for not telling his mother to stay away for 48 hours just in case,

Oh she wouldn't have got through the door. My in laws have no qualms what so ever about dropping by regardless of the fact they are usually carrier monkeys for every bug going.

Hawkmoth · 23/09/2013 19:56

FFS. I would be livid.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 23/09/2013 20:13

YANBU. If your kids get ill tell your DH he can deal with it!

EeyoreIsh · 23/09/2013 20:15

Oh my word. I would be furious if that happened!

phantomnamechanger · 23/09/2013 20:17

some people have no common sense or consideration

same as the feckless parents who send very poorly kids into school when they have D&V - not fair on anyone

MissStrawberry · 23/09/2013 20:17

MIL first as DH needs to help look after the sick kids.

Incapinka · 23/09/2013 20:20

YANBU. Kill MIL first. And to be honest you should have had snipers waiting for her arrival to prevent her from having entered the house. DH should be kept alive to look after you all.

teacher123 · 23/09/2013 20:21

Why anyone would want to go visiting with a d and v bug is beyond me!

headlesslambrini · 23/09/2013 20:26

Well I reckon you have 24-48 hours to get stocked up with wipes, washing powder, drinks, medicine etc. DH should do the shopping then all the cleaning and also treat you to a spa day.

Turniptwirl · 23/09/2013 20:33

Kill mil, leave DH to look after the kids if they get it and then when they're better kill him

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 23/09/2013 20:36

Stupid Mil and stupid DH

In schools, staff and pupils are told to stay home for 48 hours after the last symptoms.

Bang their heads together.

Do they think kids like chcking up everywhere?Hmm

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 23/09/2013 20:37

Or even chucking?

littlemisswise · 23/09/2013 20:42

I would be fuming! No wonder these bugs affect far more people than they need to! Have people got no common sense? In your shoes I would be fucking off and leaving the kids with DH and MIL for the next fortnight just incase they come down with it!Angry

My PILs can be bloody idiots but one thing they do not do is this. if they have any sort of flu or D&V they don't go anywhere cause they don't want to infect any one else.
