Hangover from hell and that's it I've decided I don't need to drink! I'm not a raging alcoholic but I just can't handle my drink anymore and ended a good night in a total state!
Gym and healthy eating is the way forward I think from now on!
Jeez I'm 35, I need to grow up!
Aibu to think I can do this? It can't be that difficult even if others are drinking?

I will be saying this Thursday morning no doubt

MusicalEndorphins · 22/09/2013 23:12

Oh course you can. And if you need help in quitting drinking, then all the more reason to seek it. Good luck.

sonlypuppyfat · 22/09/2013 23:13

Many many years ago I went out had a very merry time drinking cider and black and finished the night with a very classy tray of chips and curry sauce. I went back to my BF house and bought the lot back over his mums toilet floor all over her pedistal set, I have never been drunk since.

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:14

I did have to attend my nieces birthday party this afternoon too which consisted of screaming children and loud music.
I managed not to hurl my guts up there!
Never again! Seriously!

sonly I was sick when I got back and it's actually scared me cos I've got two gorgeous kids and I could have been sick in my sleep!! Definately not worth it!

OP posts:
sonlypuppyfat · 22/09/2013 23:19

Its definatly not worth it, I may sound like an old fart but when I started going out in the 80's I never saw anyone falling over drunk perhaps worse for wear but never like you see on the tv. I don't miss being drunk.

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:23

I just keep thinking I was having such a good night to start with, why did I need to keep drink

OP posts:
Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:24

....sorry...
Why did I need to keep drinking when I could have easily had a better night just having a laugh with my friend and dancing!
It's embarrassing really, I feel l

Do you drink spirits? Could you drink, I don't know shandy or cider something that takes a while to drink not something that you can neck!

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:26

Jesus, I'm rubbish on this tonight ha!
It's embarrassing, I feel like I'm bored of it now.
...and my fingers obviously don't work the next day ha!!

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:27

It's wine sonly, I just think I'd have a better night without the drink.

I'm 22 - not that age matters but hey ho- and I stopped drinking in October after a night out ended with me in the bath being sick Blush
It's not impossible or even hard if it's what you want to do.

If you think you'll want an occasional drink why not just vow to drink less rather than not at all. That way you won't be disappointed if you have a messy night Smile

YouTheCat · 22/09/2013 23:29

You need to perfect the art of 2/3 glasses of wine/drinks, depending on whether you get drunk easily or not.

I find 2 glasses is pleasant and chatty. 3 is tipsy and merry and any more than that and I am asking for a hangover.

I did used to over do it often but I really can't be bothered with feeling crap the next day or throwing up.

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 22/09/2013 23:29

If you don't want to drink then dont drink.

I will probably be throwing up Wednesday night or probably early hours Thursday. I end up on shots and mixing drinks everytime I drink.

I'm actually looking forward to it

YouTheCat · 22/09/2013 23:32

These are large glasses I'm talking about - not a 6th of a bottle. I try not to have more than 6 units in one go and prefer to stick to about 4 units - with plenty of days without to give my poor liver a chance. Grin

HoneyDragon · 22/09/2013 23:32

I stopped after a night out where I ended up in a right state and didn't know how, nor did my friends Sad

I decided from them on it would be safer to stay stone cold sober.

elcranko · 22/09/2013 23:32

I'm feeling much the same way at the moment. I've only been drunk about twice since I had my DC and both times I regretted it the next day because these days I'd much rather be having a nice day with my DC and a clear head, than lying on the sofa feeling like utter shite. I'm not saying I'm never drinking again because I know I will, but I do try to rein it in a bit when I go out now and maybe get a bit tipsy rather than steaming drunk. Oh and my hangovers have got worse and last longer the older I get so even more reason not to go there anymore! Smile

TessTackle · 22/09/2013 23:33

Please do drunk posting on here SP cheers Wine

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 22/09/2013 23:34

No way! I did that new years Grin

I'm at a wedding after do from 3.30pm til midnight, maybe even town after. I'm going all out seen as my birthday will be shite.

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:35

I think I'm just going to save drinking for special occasions and even then limit myself! It's a total waste otherwise, anymore than 3 glasses of wine and I can't remember anything!

McNewPants2013 · 22/09/2013 23:37

I have found if I drink a pint of water before going to bed and have a bottle of water by the bed to drink when I get up I am hang over free within an hour.

Also a nice heathy breakfast.

TessTackle · 22/09/2013 23:38

I'm three mojitos and down lol. I love mojitos.

I want a mojito
I really really want a mojito

oh fuck

AngryFeet · 22/09/2013 23:42

See I can drink shit loads and not have a hangover now a days. This probably means I have a high tolerance and my liver I shot to shit!

SPsTwerkingNineToFive · 22/09/2013 23:47

Angry MD 20/20 in my teen years killed my liver Grin

Icantstopeatinglol · 22/09/2013 23:51
