Background info - massive family argument so I fell out with my Dads side of the family.

Me being me has carried on sending presents & cards for birthdays.

Recently it was my dad's birthday & sisters birthday so I sent them presents
Dad got a hmv voucher for £15
Sister got newlook voucher for £10

Neither have text to say thanks or anything

WIBU to not bother sending anything agin

It's very rude not to get a thank you, regardless of the circumstances.

If it were me, I'd continue to send cards but probably not the presents/vouchers.

If you continue to send cards then I think it shows you'd like to keep the dialogue and relationship going and it's up to them to act on it.

Had a birthday card that arrived 5 weeks late

Send the cards still, only if you want to, but it's very rude not to thank someone for a present so I don't think they're deserving of any more!

Justforlaughs · 21/09/2013 19:04

YWNBU not to send any more, providing it doesn't make you more upset than sending them and receiving no acknowledgement would.

Sirzy · 21/09/2013 19:07

I would send cards but no presents.

I stop sending my Great Neices' money at Christmas because I never heard from their parents. Nephew was on my Facebook, too. Never a word. YANBU.

HometownUnicorn · 21/09/2013 20:01

YANBU

I stopped getting thank yous from my nieces and nephews, for the cash/vouchers in cards when they were teens.

I totally wish I'd had the balls to stop sending TBH. I didn't want a four page letter, a text/inbox on facebook would have been plenty.

elcranko · 21/09/2013 21:48

YANBU. Very rude of them not to say thank you. Send cards if you want to but I'd stop with the gifts for now.

ThisIsBULLSHIT · 21/09/2013 21:55

I would stop too tbh.
