Given that a 'super typhoon' is on its way?

Currently being described by the news as 'the strongest storm on earth'

I contemplating hiding his passport :(

They won't let the flight go if it's not safe. Try not to worry too much.

ChiefToiletRollChanger · 21/09/2013 09:13

I would be concerned too but I assume there are work pressures on him to go? The flight won't go if there is any danger and they may have to divert if the typhoon changes direction.

Does he work for a large company?

meditrina · 21/09/2013 09:13

If it's going to hit, the flight will either be diverted or cancelled.

How close is it, and how sure are they of its path? I saw something on the news yesterday, but was left with vague impression it was threatening the Phillipines. Has it changed course?

HorsePetal · 21/09/2013 09:14

Thanks Rhonda, he then has an onward flight which will probably be delayed so likelihood is he will be stranded there when it hits

I've just seen this news item. Flights will be going in and out of Hong Kong today, but delays and cancellations expected tomorrow. Passengers need to check with their airline.

In that news they are urging people to cancel not essential travel so yanbu
