To store credit card numbers or any other personal financial information on a mobile telephone?

Just updating the OS on the Mac devices. Did the phone first, so have been looking at all the settings etc. Came across the area for credit card information storage & thought wth?

Have to go out soon, but suspect the latter part of the morning will be devoted to going through devices carefully to see what has been slipped in under the radar.

I said the very same thing to dh when I was researching whether its worth updating my phone.

Plus most people don't have virus protection on their mobiles (me included!).

Yanbu.

Every so often I grep my PC specifically for the initial 4 digits on my Visa. You'd be amazed how often they turn up in a temp file.

This sort of thing is why we don't have Macs.

I am so glad it wasn't just me being blurry-eyed. I never ask any if my devices to remember things like passwords etc.
Now all I need to do is to work out how to change an incorrect contact number in my profile. I can see it is going to be a fun day.
I always thought Macs were less prone to viruses and hacking. Probably good that I am having dead laptop revived, spread the risk & all that Wink

Viruses aren't an issue on a Mac or iPhone.

But I agree. It's a stupid thing to put on a phone.
