my poor deprived children!!

honestly don't know if i'm being a bit silly being annoyed. my friend told her wee girl not to be going on about her holidays to florida ect in front of my kids because not all kids are as fortunate as her. I can see she was probably trying to be nice but i'm a bit put out she thinks my kids are in any way deprived because i choose not to do disney etc.. watch y'all think?

I think her heart was in the right place but it seems a bit snobby. Especially if it's been repeated to/infront of your children.
I'd be pissed off tbh.

it probably has less to do with you and more to do with her trying to teach her child not to brag (which is quite right)

Did you hear this yourself op or did your kids relate it to you. It might have come off very different as you are thinking. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what she had said. Not everyone can afford it and its not nice to talk about it in that case. Maybe her kids were just too excited and all it's all they could talk about, so she didn't want your kids to feel bad. Don't take it the wrong way unless you have heard her say it yourself in a nasty way.

I think it has absolutely zero to do with you and everything to do with encouraging her kids not to show off or boast - I think you're taking it a tad too personally tbh.

thanks guys, she totally wasn't nasty about it, it was her that told me, she said she was trying to teach her child that not all kids were are as lucky as her. i suppose i just thought i made different choices (camping ect) too her not that i was depriving my kids! a good lesson to teach kids i suppose just thought my kids were lucky buggers but not everybody must think so :)

god i'm rubbish at putting my point across in print! could talk the hind legs off ye in real life though :)
