very moving and interesting, about the diver and the rescue/salvage work etc....... but AIBU thinking its a bit inappropriate to be on after the news articles about the Costa Concordia on the news just now?

I saw this last week. Must be a repeat. But I take your point. Is it still on? Got to the fur trading bit yet?

phantomnamechanger · 16/09/2013 23:08

No fur trading yet

I'm watching: it's really interesting. They're just getting to the fur trading.

FlapJackFlossie · 16/09/2013 23:12

If we took off all programmes that 'someone' deemed inappropriate we'd not have any TV at all OP.

It's a scheduled repeat.

I know Flossie, I'm being daft...just was so sad hearing about the reward offered for the fidning of the dead children, and the details of all the personal effects, baby clothes, treasured items..... when I had just been hearing an interview with a man who survived the CC disaster and lost all his possessions, still in the shell of the liner. Just made it all the more poignant.

I know phantom - it was so sad seeing the rewards notice for the children.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 16/09/2013 23:22

I watched it the other night when it was on - the bit in Canada was heartbreaking, and I cheered when they came to how her great great great or whatever survived all the dreadful ordeals he endured and went on to marry and have children in spite of losing his feet to frostbite.
I snivelled at the bit about the poor drowned children too - I wish they'd told us if anyone ever did find their poor little bodies.

phantomnamechanger · 16/09/2013 23:23

yeah Pom, I had a little sob too and am not too proud to admit it

Sorry what is it?!

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 16/09/2013 23:27

It's that "Who Do You Think You Are" genealogy show softly

mummymeister · 17/09/2013 00:04

just finished watching it. I know some bits are sad but blubbing about it - not my scene really. sometimes they are really interesting going back many years but just got a bit fed up with the "I am going to experience his life by stepping out of safe heated car for five minutes and walking on some snow" a good show that has gone a bit too sentimental for my liking.
