..... to be annoyed that these Doodles ...

... are losing their sparkly bits? I only bought them on Friday and I had to wash them today as DC3 wet on them at Pre-School but, surely, the whole point of Doodles is that they are washable but I have just taken them out of the wash and the sprkling bits are all peeling off, like glue. I have just checked the box and nothing, no warning, nothing at all. Humpf.

Doodles are not washable according to Clarks so if you take them back I wouldn't mention you washed them

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 16/09/2013 22:38

Where does it say that? How else are they meant to be cleaned? Have washed previous pairs successfully .....

I asked them about it in the store. I washed DS's of course but the official line is 'not washable'

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 16/09/2013 23:04

Did they say how you should clean them? Tbh, I feel I had no choice, as, if left with wet on them, they'd start to get whiffy ....

I have always washed doodles and they have come up beautifully, but TBH I think they were the sort with sewn on decorations not stuck on ones

McNewPants2013 · 16/09/2013 23:08

What are doodles

phantomnamechanger · 16/09/2013 23:09

they are clarks branded soft canvas shoes for kids, bit like plimsoles

KittyLane1 · 16/09/2013 23:15

Hey I work in Clarks :)

Some doodles are machine washable, some are not. It should say on the label. If its the pink canvas with sparkle toe I don't think they are washable but check the website or label. Clarks sell protector spray and canvas shoe cleaner, both are about £4 for a large can x

McNewPants2013 · 16/09/2013 23:16

The website is down ATM.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 16/09/2013 23:16

I didn't appreciate that the sparkles weren't intrinsic until after the washing .... I have also previously washed Doodles with good results.

Beige t-bar with blue/pink/purple spots, some sparkly. "Machine washable. May be subject to slight shrinkage and colour loss.". Not a ferret about de-sparkling! More annoyed, as the reason I bought them was because she needed them and I don't have the time to take them back. Also annoyed as, although my children do put them through heavy usage over a Summer, Doodles have always come up trumps before.

I thought they would get rubbed eventually, just not so soon!
