To get a bit annoyed when other people don't leave feedback on eBay?

I know it's not a big issue in the scheme of things, but I do get a bit irritated when others don't leave feedback either when you buy something off them or someone buys something off you.

I always pay promptly if buying something or if selling something describe it as it is and dispatch it quickly and I always leave feedback.

I just think you've gone through the majority of the eBay process, to then leave the final bit Confused.

Oh I can never be arsed to be honest.

I used to in the early days but now as far as I'm concerned, the final bit is being happy with the parcel I sign for.

OddBoots · 14/09/2013 16:24

I think it is the extra star stuff and the fact you need to put a comment that puts people off - if you could just tick 'positive' and be done with it then more people would bother.

ohmeohmyforgotlogin · 14/09/2013 16:25

It's all bullshit, sellers wanting you to contact them rather than leave anything negative. You don't have to it and I don't like the pressure to and mostly can't be arsed. Bigger things to care about.

ThePorpoiseOfStupidity · 14/09/2013 16:31

I know there's bigger things, I suppose it's because I always leave feedback, I suppose I expect it in return.

Plus I want a different colour star.

I sell on eBay and if feedback is left then I know they have got their item. I contacted one buyer because they had bought a lot from me in one hit and it turned out that they hadn't received their goods so I tracked them down for them. stuck in a parcel force depot .

now I worry that no feedback = no delivery!

diddl · 14/09/2013 18:46

"I think it is the extra star stuff"

Oh yes-I agree with that!

maddy68 · 14/09/2013 18:49

I cba with feedback. Too time consuming

RoonilWazlibWuvsHermyown · 14/09/2013 18:49

I usually don't leave feedback because I'm not one for going negative or neutral but if I'm not feeling a positive, I won't do it. Like recently I bought a second hand book and was charged for first class. It was sent second but had cost more than I'd paid anyway. It was one of those where it doesn't justify a negative because she obviously didnt expect the postage to be so high and hadnt ripped me off for postage but it wasn't worth a positive because she should have eaten the cost as it was her mistake and sent it first class still.

InsertBoringName · 14/09/2013 18:54

YANBU. I bought a wall sticker (yes, yea, I know!) off eBay last week but the instructions say if your wall is newly painted (mine is) then leave it three weeks before applying. So I don't want to leave feedback before I've stuck the thing on just in case, but I already feel guilty I haven't done it Grin

PottyLotty · 14/09/2013 18:55

I never leave feedback.
I dont go writing all over Sainsburys facebook page that the apples I bought there today weres especially tasty so why would I do it for a book/toaster etc I ordered?

I received the item and it was what was on the picture when I bought it, what more can I say.

Also I actually expect items to be exactly as descibed and I expect them to be sent promptly and received in the correct condition. If they are not then I am happy to leave feedback to say how bad my service had been but to just say 'well done you managed to post me an item that I bought and that you were legally required to send to me in the condition stated' is really a bit ott.

I just dont get why I get given stars and feedback. I paid for an item I wanted to buy, I do that in every other shop I go in so why do I need them to tell me that I paid and was a fantastic customer. I wasnt a fantastic customer I just did what was required to purchase the item.

(having a really bad week if this sounds a bit sarcastic/rude, sorry Blush )

CoTananat · 14/09/2013 19:03

I don't leave feedback if I'm not happy but cannot be bothered to go through the complaint/contacting the seller and on and on procedure.

LeaningTowerOfGaffney · 14/09/2013 19:04

I never bother. Have had a few people beg me for feedback which makes me want to leave negative feedback but I refrain!

ThePorpoiseOfStupidity · 14/09/2013 19:08

I can understand if you're not happy (like the postage example above) but its not enough to justify negative feedback. I don't agree it's time consuming to leave feedback though Confused.

I get around to leaving feedback eventually but people who email me asking me to do so annoy the hell out of me. Leave me alone!

Kacie1985 · 14/09/2013 19:12

I don't usually bother because I didn't think anyone noticed! Blush I will next time cause apparently people do notice.

waterrat · 14/09/2013 19:37

My god life is hectic enough - eBay feedback is too complicated ! I I could just tick positive I would do it all the time but I have I write a commen - they need to change the way it works

kali110 · 14/09/2013 19:42

Been using ebay for years. Cant leave feedback using my phone and i only got internet in my house last year so been unable to leave feedback.

Sallystyle · 14/09/2013 19:44

I can't be bothered.

I share an account with dh and he always moans about me not leaving feedback so he does it for me now.

Jenny70 · 14/09/2013 20:44

I go through spurts of buying - so might buy 5 things, then not go back to ebay in months... by which time feedback is forgotten. Sorry, but if I did it all the time it might come a higher priority.

honeybunny14 · 14/09/2013 20:51

I always leave feedback but a few months bk i left negative feed back as the item needed fixed the seller messaged me asking me to remove it and put in positive feedback as the item could be fixed i felt abit under pressure tbh

VacantExpression · 14/09/2013 20:54

I sell on ebay and hate it when people don't leave feedback. A couple of parcels should have been received days ago and I'm all twitchy thinking they are lost because no feedback has been left. I've recently stopped leaving feedback until the buyer has, but I don't think that's made much difference either.

TidyDancer · 14/09/2013 20:56

I don't leave feedback and won't until the feedback system is made fair. For the last few years, eBay have had a ridiculously biased "no negative feedback from sellers" policy. It's a fucking stupid policy but while they persist, I do not take part.

A small personal protest. Grin

MagzFarqharson · 14/09/2013 21:02

I'm with you OP. I look at feedback before I buy anything, it's useful to read any negative comments and see the sellers percentage. If you're not happy with something from Sainbury's you can easy take it back and moan.

I usually pay for things straightaway with PayPal and it's a bit annoying when they tell you they'll leave feedback only after you've left positive for them.

So now I can't be arsed either.

MadBusLady · 14/09/2013 21:07

I'll tell you what annoys me much more and that's feedback that goes "TOP EBAYER!!!! A++++++++++++++++++!!!"

WTF is an A multiple plus and why do I want to be awarded one from a complete stranger?

I leave my feedback in complete sentences and make it pertinent to the transaction.
