To not know the difference between a badminton racquet and a squash racquet?

DH asked me to drop his stuff off at work, I asked what he needed and he told me, including the phrase 'the badminton racquet with black case'.

Turns out I took the squash racquet with the black case.

In my defence, having looked closely in the cupboard, the badminton racquet has, what I would describe as, a black and white case.

AIBU in not being able to tell the difference?

Yes! They don't look the same at all and it is not like you have never seen any of them before because your DH is playing both.

Yabu, the shape of them is totally different.

Did your dh then have to play badminton with a squash racquet?!

FruOla · 04/09/2013 19:45

They are completely different types of racquet. But, in your defence, if you've never played badminton or squash how would you be expected to know - especially if they are both in similar colour cases. So - YANBU.

OK, so looks like I'm in the wrong.

I just picked up the one in the black case, I've never played either sport, I didn't realise they look so different Blush

No Cuthbert, you're not in the wrong. I used to play badminton and squash a lot many years ago, but I wouldn't expect DP to know the difference between the two racquets because he's never played either sport.

Pfffft. He got the bloody colour wrong so it's his own fault. YANBU

YANBU

At least you didn't take a cricket bat. That would have been unreasonable.
