The school admissions system has been down for the past 3 days. When I phoned them they said it might be fixed by the end of the week but they aren't really sure. Chocolate teapot....

Do publically funded computer systems never work as well as they should?!

Somebody probably forgot to feed the hamster who powers it over the holidays.

I was grumbling about our admissions system the other day, we've moved and although we already know what school DS is going to (because I phone & phoned & phoned until somebody would sort it) we'd had no paperwork, so I phoned again and guess what they forgot to send anything out, because we'd confused them by moving (er yeah that's why we needed a school place Hmm )
They could send something out that day but it might take up to 2weeks to sort out!!! Making DSs start at his new school late. So after a complete faff yesterday I finally managed to get through to somebody at the school and he's starting tomorrow.
Our council isn't a computer system its people/paper based and it's also shite.
I particularly like the fact that they fuck up and there is no consequences but the letter they sent me reminded me that if I don't send my child to school they will fine me for non attendance Angry

Grin oh, and I suppose I'd better say first world problem.
Wonky, why am I not surprised?!
We can apply on paper but given that we know what school we want we might as well just get on and get the application done, plus I want to be able to check online.
