To not know how to get a life?

I've recently lost a number of friends, due to a fall out with one of them and the rest trotting along with her.

Where do I start with new ones?? I am a SAHM to two young ones. I have a small part time job, but most of the staff are much younger (late teens) or much older with no young kids. I have a coffee once in a while with them, but I'm missing out on play dates. I feel sad for the little ones and I'm so lonely.

My best friend fell out with me recently, and DD has just started High School so I'm past the toddler group/school gate stage.
I wanted to meet new people, particularly as I can't work due to disability.
I joined a new group last week, a cake club of all things, and though I haven't made friends from it yet, I will go again.
I met up with an old school friend who's relatively near, I've arranged to meet DD's old Childminder for coffee, plus I plan to get my food blog up and running again and possibly meet people through that.
Also going to meet a Mnetter who I've 'known', for years later this year.
And hoping to get back in touch with my SIL (Brother's first wife), who seems to be wanting to get in touch too.

I met a really good friend through meet a mum on netmums, make an effort with 'facebook' friends, what area do you live in? We've got a WI group here and its a mix of all ages.

You have to 'put yourself out there'

Go to toddler groups, look out for others who are in 1s or 2s, smile and introduce yourself, then suggest a coffee after.

Do your DC go to preschool? Get to pick up a little early, and chat to other Mums, invite over to play etc.

Do you have time/money for an evening class?

Is there any chance you could make up with any members of the previous group of friends?

We have a WI starting up round here too, it's a good chance to meet people (really not Jam & Jerusalem). Other evening things I've done - book group, craft group etc.

During the day it is toddler groups/kids activity groups. I have met a few RL people through MN and I have heard people say good things about Netmums for local meetups.

Thank you for your replies. I think there is a WI around here, I looked before, so will check it out. Some classes might be fun too. I'll see what I can find x
