We live in the flat(6 th floor) and the whole flat is vibrating and music is like in the club. Its coming from the house- third garden from us. For the last 2h I can't hear my own voice.
Didn't know that such a strong speakers exist ( can tell I am old).....
Last Friday they did the same- but I thought I was one off but tonight it really got to me.
Is there anything I can do in a polite way????
I know people got worse problems but I am going nuts.....

i dont know what u can do but u have my sympathy. we have teenage neighbours who like their music on friday and saturday nights but they had one week without parents and omg i have never FELT music so much! the monday night i was almost in tears when i was lying in my bed after midnight on a vibrating bed knowing i had to get up at 4am. its so selfish, its one thing having a good time and listening to music but it gets to a point where its too loud to hear and u dont drown out vibrations with ear plugs. i think if concerts have to stop at 11pm so shoudl all stupidly loud music.

Mia4 · 30/08/2013 22:21

YANBU, OP if it's that loud you can call environmental services or dial 101-if they can hear it through the phone, they'll take more seriously. Can you ask them to turn down.

That level is unacceptable-regardless of time. Worst case scenario, you need to complain to council and keep a diary if it ends up being every friday.

burstingbaboon · 30/08/2013 22:38

Thank you sooo much for replies. It's still so loud- I have tears- it is hitting my brain.
I am writing it down time and date. My two DDs are sleeping and DH is upset but not like me.
I don't dare to knock on their door because I don't want to cause arguments and I don't know who lives there.
It's beyond believe!!!!!!

I would ring 101, on the basis log it now so if it is still going on at stupid o clock you can then shout at 101 for not doing something earlier if you don't want to shout at the actual neighbours Grin

Obv. won't solve the actual problem, but gives you a sense of doing something.

OR, go and knock, ideally in PJ's and a dressing down with tears running down your face and explain they are keeping your baby awake (if its a few doors down they are unlikely to know how big your child is, or if they are actually awake?)

burstingbaboon · 30/08/2013 23:11

I don't dare to go there. I am sure no one normal lives there otherwise they wouldn't listen music so loud. They actually put speakers in the garden . I know we are nw London and its noisy but this really shows level of education.
It's reggae and socca music with that heavy beat.
If it was reasonable time- fine but nearly midnight it's making me so frustrated!!!!!
AIBU????

Wow. They just stepped up a bit- someone is playing with microphone. That is mad. I wish someone could here this , it's insane.

AlyssB · 30/08/2013 23:25

Agree, ring 101 and report. Not acceptable!!

savvymoo · 30/08/2013 23:26

We have called local environmental health before 10pm. They came around and listened from the bedrooms at about 10pm (very small children trying to sleep in those bedrooms). Unfortunately there's largely f-all they can do about it other than ask politely (which they did to no effect) and then send a letter to them to ask that they don't do it again. It's not been that bad since, although we do have to cope with a certain degree of noise on a regular basis...We live in C London so this sort of thing happens a lot to some extent (and we're reasonably relaxed in general) but I've only been moved to call e.health once and what you're describing sounds similar.

DanicaJones · 30/08/2013 23:29

I'd call 101. You shouldn't have to put up with that. Surely the police would do something about it

burstingbaboon · 30/08/2013 23:31

Before I call them, do I need to give them only address of this silly people ? What will they ask me if you know?
It's like some underground club!!!!!!
I could let out mouthful. Only things like this can make me to use inappropriate language.
And I don't want..... But the guy who is using microphone I could go and thump it on his big head.
Grrrrrr...

I agree. Ring 101. It's noise pollution after 11pm isn't it? They'll probably just go round and tell them to turn it down. But keep ringing of they turn it back up again.

They can be served with ASBOs if they carry on.

Also, if they keep doing it, ring their landlord and complain x

Misspixietrix · 30/08/2013 23:35

Agree with the others try 101. I know exactly what you and others mean about having FELT the Music. There has been a fair few parties over the holidays and could literally feel the vibrations. One was that loud that the Police did come out to it and tell them to.turn it down. Imagine what damage their doing to.their hearing! I'm rather suite lenient about things like this but I could have cried the other day when someone started a Party up at 4am! Brew OP ~

Misspixietrix · 30/08/2013 23:37

*quite! ~

RobotHamster · 30/08/2013 23:38

They'll only need an approximate address if its that loud, surely? Have you called?

burstingbaboon · 31/08/2013 00:07

I called them and they could hear music themselves. I was told they will sent someone as soon as they can ( don't have available staff ATM).
I knew I will get answer like this. My DH wants to go there, they are really crossing the line but even thou he is very calm and really doesn't argue, there is nothing good that will come out from that visit.
It is really annoying to beyond explanation.
I am going to take a long bath and see if there will be any changes.... I doubt but still hoping.....

Thank fuck for that. Enjoy your Peace Smile

burstingbaboon · 31/08/2013 00:58

Thank you. I am just following thread about Syria. I was honestly going nuts. If they didn't stop I think I would pour all my anger on my DH.... Thank you....

Misspixietrix · 31/08/2013 01:05

I know how hard it is. The thing is someone did go out to the 4am house the other day as a lot of residents round here either work or have young children. One has a Newborn. I thought it was brave of him but I would have been hesitant About going out myself. If it's happening regularly log it. Ring 111 and have it logged too etc. Hopefully they wont ~

burstingbaboon · 31/08/2013 01:10

Misspixietrix... They stopped but it really got me to my bones. I felt as if someone was thumping my brain...
It's one of the most annoying things .....
Honestly, with all things which are happening around I wouldn't dare to knock on their door...
I am keeping diary of now two times they had this loud music and my call to police.
Hopefully it will stay like this...
Never ever had problem like this until everything started last week... So I am hoping someone's parents will come soon from holidays!
Thank you so much
