To say no to this

My ex only paid me half the monthly amount we have agreed this week as he is currently not working (whole other story!) Today he texted saying he wants to take our eldest DS to a show in London next week as a special treat, we do not live in London so cost of this would be in the region of £75. I am considering saying no as he owes me more than that and as he isn't working I can't see how he will be able to pay me anything more. He gave me no warning about the shortfall in what he paid me and assumes that I can somehow manage without it and then plans expensive trips, it just does not seem reasonable!!

Tell him yes as long as the shortfall has been paid before then. Dc's needs clothes, food, roof over his head, utilities etc. A special treat he can live without.

what ihearsounds says, and be careful he doesn't expect you to pay travel costs!

Well I did this and he has agreed to pay me shortfall before the trip, think he just tries to get away with stuff sometimes!

Be sure he actually pays it via money transfer. BIL would turn up claiming he'd pay before when he came and never did but my sister felt awful then saying DN could go with him. Lather, rinse repeat, he's uses her guilt to make sure he saw his child (when he wants to, not always when he's meant to) while stiffing them both every time he decided to actually turn up.
