DD was watching "jamie in Athens" or something like that, where jamie oliver, while cooking with a view of the Parthenon decides to start talking about "this magnificent building, the Acropolis" (he then carried on to say that it is "gos know how many thousand years old" but I won't go inot that).

It happened 40 minutes ago and I'm still giggling every time I think about it. I suppose I wouldn't care in a face-to-face convo with someone, but a)Oliver has been annoying me recently
b) he's on tv FFS, isn't there a script or the change for editing?

I'm moving house tomorrow and haven't slept in two days, but here comes that giggle again, teehehehe

You made mistakes in your OP. HTH :)

twilight3 · 27/08/2013 20:35

I'm not on tv, and a lot of them are because I can't be bothered (i.e. capital letters etc.)
And again... I'm not on tv.
HTH Smile

I used to like him, but recently he's been a bit OTT for my liking, I might join that thread (removals lorry arriving in 12 hours, procrastination is needed).

I don't know how to link. But there are several threads to chose from.

Sorry, what?

Confused
vincettenoir · 27/08/2013 21:27

I would have loved it too. But I am a Jamie Oliver hating history geek.

FondantNancy · 27/08/2013 21:47

I guess you had to be there!

MrsBW · 27/08/2013 21:54

What Fondant said.

Rightly or wrongly, it's popularly known as 'The Acropolis' even though some people pedants- may point out the most famous structure on The Acropolis is, in fact, called The Parthenon. I only found out the distinction when visiting the place.

Not really sure what the problem is.
