To not want boots on my sofa?

Dsd spent the night at her mums has just returned to ours in UGG type boots.

We have new carpets and shoes get left in the shoe basket. Me 'oh nice boots, would you take them off in the house though please' DSD 'no because they're sort of for inside'

I get this, they're new ish and prob not hugely dirty however I come downstairs to find her reclining on the sofa with boots on.

What she does outside of our home is non of my concern but my home my rules..AIBU to ask her to remove them?

Of course YANBU. Did you make her take them off?

Err, no. Boots and shoes are for outside wear, slippers are for inside. I do realise that Uggs are kind of inbetween in terms of looks/comfort, but the point is, they've been worn outside so all of that dirt is now on your sofa.

Just tell her that any footwear worn outside can't then be worn inside, especially not put up on the sofa. Of course she'll moan and possibly tell you to take the stick out of your arse (under her breath, hopefully Wink) but at least you'll have clean sofas and carpets.

YANBU.

If they are for inside they are for inside only.

It wouldn't bother me in the least, but if you have a rule about taking shoes off, she should know that and comply.
