To be hacked off the Virgin man hasn't been yet?

Ok, I know I am BU, but really: why do they say 8am-1pm? Couldn't they narrow it down a bit? Was up ready in case he arrived at 8am (after late night last night), of course he didn't come at 8, or 9 or 10.

Still have depressing trip to IKEA to contend with later on and wish Virgin man would hurry up and get here to do the broadband, so that I can go and get it done.

I bet he will arrive at 1.05pm.

Has he arrived yet?

No, he never came. I rang 3 times, each time needing a half hour call at premium rates, first and second time told "he is definitely coming".

At 5.30pm, was told that actually no, he wasn't coming, because before they could install at my new house, they had to dig up the pavement to extend the cable. Even though I booked this appointment 4 weeks ago, they were apparently unable to work out before today that this would be required. And how did they work it out? The engineer did come, looked, and left without saying anything to me. So my entire day was wasted waiting in, even though Virgin knew early on that it wasn't going to happen today.

When can they do the work needed to install the cable? 9 September. Until when, I have no broadband.

No apology, not a word. I can rarely recall a day when I've felt so ragingly angry. Virgin - twats.

Back to BT tomorrow to see if they can do it sooner.
