The problem with attractions aimed at children...

...is that they are full of parents / grandparents / caregivers giving those children a massive bollocking for being annoying. Yesterday it seemed like every lunch table was full of ranting parents and misbehaving children. It was a bit weird to be honest.

Perhaps it's just getting towards the end of the holidays and everyone is getting a bit short tempered. Or perhaps it is the places I go to. AIBU?

I usually find too many parents don't tell their kids off for naughty behaviour...

CruCru · 22/08/2013 23:28

Well, perhaps this bunch had just about had enough and snapped. May have been one of those cumulative things where low level naughtiness gets to you and you react disproportionately to something quite minor. However it was the entire bloody place.

Tell me where you were it sounds like heaven. I had a boy about 9 kick me when he ran over me because he simply wasn't looking where he was going, no parents in sight to tell him off.

I find the problem is they are too full of children. Or more to the point children who haven't been taught how to behave.

Somewhere people actually make the effort to control their children sounds like bliss!

Well in that case perhaps IABU. It was Blackgang Chine in the Isle of Wight, really good fun for kids.

Or maybe the children just don't understand why, once the Big Day of the Promised Treat is actually here, and they've endured the journey and "are we there yet?" bit, and arrived, they are all excited and raring to go and just want to run and play and scream with excitement and do whatever it is the attraction has for them to do, and all they get is "stop that! sit down! shush! behave" no you can't do X" and all because whoever is with them is worried about the hoiking of the judgey pants from the next family in the queue Confused

ShakeAndVac · 22/08/2013 23:53

I'd rather be at a place full of parents telling their kids to behave than at a place full of kids with parents who couldn't give a sh**.

YANBU. Amazes me what some parents tell their DC off for, talking, asking questions, wanting a drink, needing the toilet. I was at Beaulieu at the weekend and even the staff said their were fed up of moaning parents.
