Look, I know this sounds ageist, but how old is Ironside now? Her advice seems a bit, er...outdated, shall we say?

I'm a huge fan of Virginia Ironside. She has had some fantastic and original if independent views over the years. I guess its not possible to agree with everything someone says. But why stoop to abuse them?

I feel really sad that journalists are attacked in this personal way now, if you disagree with their opinion.

Well, it sounds a pretty vicious wording to me, regardless of whether you are actually going to go round her house and physically attack her.

What if I slap her around the head with a cashmere glove?

Or just go round her house, go in her freezer and chop the bottom off her cornettos
