To still be smiling at my trip to Tesco

I am still laughing to myself about a packet of soup I saw in the Eastern European section in Tesco. It had a picture of a rooster on and was called Cock Soup! The description said "Cock flavour soup".

Am I just childish as DH didn't find it nearly as amusing as I did?

Grin They have this in sainsburys too!

I laughed out loud when I saw it Wink

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 21/08/2013 18:27

You are SO childish!

Grin

Cock Soup

< snort >

Feelslikea1sttimer · 21/08/2013 18:30

I would find that hilarious.., in the same way that me and OH always have a snigger over 'gentlemens relish' it just makes me think of all the wrong things!!!

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:31

I have seen this.

This however "Cock flavour soup" I did not notice. This is hilarious.

spanky2 · 21/08/2013 18:32

I'veseen that too! I nearly photographed it to show dh .

SofaKing · 21/08/2013 18:33

My bil brought a packet of this back from Texas last year as he knew emailing have believed him otherwise. He was right Grin.

SofaKing · 21/08/2013 18:34

Emailing should have read no one!

I can't remember which way round it is but doesn't "flavour" mean it just tastes of something whereas "flavourED" means it has to actually contain the ingredient so we can rest assured it only tastes of cock and doesn't actually contain any.

OP posts:
ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:36

Thinking about it, doesn't packaging legally have to say 'such-and-such FLAVOUR' when the content of the ingredient in question is lower than a certain %? So not much real cock in your Cock Soup there.

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:37

Haha one mind, OP. One mind.

GinOnTwoWheels · 21/08/2013 18:45

I love stuff like this . I think I too have snigged over cock soup.

Next time you're there OP, have a look for this as well.

I also have a snigger over knackebrod in Ikea and Knoblauch in all the German restaurants in Mallorca.

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/08/2013 18:46

Cock Soup would have to have actual Cock in it.
Cock flavour/ed Soup would only have to taste like Cock.

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:47

hahah Gin that's funny Grin

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:48

Actually Randall - doesn't flavoured indicate the actual ingredient HAS been used? (CBA to google)

Titsalinabumsquash · 21/08/2013 18:48

Haha! I have a picture of cock soup packet on my Facebook. I too found it hilar. Grin

PersonalClown · 21/08/2013 18:54

I spotted this the other day when getting curry supplies.

I sniggered all the way round the rest of the shop!

AnonymityReqd · 21/08/2013 18:55

Flavoured indicates that the actual ingredient was used.

RandallPinkFloyd · 21/08/2013 18:55

That could be true. I thought flavour and flavoured were the same but it does sounds plausible doesn't it?

Flavour of Cock.
Flavoured by Cock.

No need for google. We've cracked it ourselves. In fact I shall mark it with a gavel.

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:57

YES. I'm glad we have AIBU for mature discussion of the pressing issues of the day. We hereby declare OP that no actual cock was harmed in the making of your cock soup.

neontetra · 21/08/2013 18:58

Me and dh go and have a little look at this every time we visit the big Teccers. It cheers us up no end.

LEMisdisappointed · 21/08/2013 19:00

if you read the packaging of those things you will discovered they are "made for tesco" in milton keynes :) I found this out when i was a bit Hmm about the "kwydzin" mustard!! (say it out loud). Its not "ethic" food at all, its tesco food made to look/sound ethnic - you have to admire their marketing team really! Stuff is cheaper though so its always my first port of call.

Cuddleswithcats · 21/08/2013 19:01

They have this in Tesco?? My sister brought me some back from Barbados, I thought it was special Wink

AnonymityReqd · 21/08/2013 19:01

Randall - the difference was drilled into me during my degree.
