angel delight instead of homemade chocolate mousse? but not tell him
We are having wild venison with salad and lyonnaise potato. Last time dh friend told me that my dessert (banoffee pie and home made ice cream) was from Tesco freezer sectionAngry Angry . So today I might serve him chemicals and his lovely DW trifle (it is her favourite dessertConfused )

After wild bloody venison I'd NEED Angel Delight. I'm very unadventurous and wild venison would gross me out a bit.

KissMeHardy · 21/08/2013 18:15

If they'd said that to me they wouldn't be getting fed a second time I can tell you !!

Tee2072 · 21/08/2013 18:17

Why have you invited them back?

YouStayClassySanDiego · 21/08/2013 18:17

Cheeky Git, was he being twattish on purpose?

Sounds lovely btw!

canyou · 21/08/2013 18:18

Neo it is not to my taste either but came my at freeSmile so I am having monk fish but guests are real meat eaters so will appreciate it I hope

Does it matter?

As long as they're likely to eat it, feed them what you want.

canyou · 21/08/2013 18:20

Dp is friend since childhood and tbh he sends extra work DP's way and the money is helpful.
But is Angel delight really horrible? it came in my Christmas food hamper and I never tasted it before but it looks cheap and nasty and I will great foam cream

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 18:22

OP was your banoffee pie from Tesco freezer section? Or did he incorrectly surmise?

YouStayClassySanDiego · 21/08/2013 18:23

Serve it in posh glasses and say it's some french fancy pudding, he'll probably love it.

canyou · 21/08/2013 18:23

worra I am assuming if it is nasty 80's food he might think it is better then home made nice food Hmm Grin

Nanny0gg · 21/08/2013 18:23

canyou · 21/08/2013 18:25

Tee2072 · 21/08/2013 18:26

Angel Delight is vile. Tastes like chemicals.

JogOnKitty · 21/08/2013 18:27

Yabu. Chocolate angel delight is lovely! Save it for yourself. Grin

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2013 18:28

Vivi home made I am a chef and always make my own desserts he even saw me make it

Then he was clearly joking...teasing you Confused

Why have you taken it so seriously?

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 21/08/2013 18:56

Yes, he was teasing you!! YABU.

Can I come for dinner, please?

IvanaCake · 21/08/2013 19:08

If he saw you making it he was obviously teasing you!

Alliwantisaroomsomewhere · 21/08/2013 19:39

I suspect this is a stealth boasting thread about OP cooking wild venison! Grin

Bumblebee333 · 21/08/2013 19:45

YANBU for reminding me me that Angel Delight exists. I had forgotten I love it.

canyou · 21/08/2013 20:02

nope we often have Bambi and other wild stuff yuck pasta cheese tonight Grin

my DC handed me back the angel delight except the fussy one who ate everyone else's left covers Shock It is not too bad would have loved it as a childGrin
Angel delight it will be. Friend is a food snob tbh and has on many times pissed me off with unwarranted comments I work for a nice but normal cafe/restaurant not a Michelin star place and I know he comments on everyone's cooking but not in a nice way. I am still waiting to be invited for a Meal he cooksHmm . I want to make him
eatcheap crap something he would claim is too cheap to eat but not make others suffer,
I am so not a nice host Blush Sad

canyou · 21/08/2013 20:03

HamletsSister · 21/08/2013 20:05

Grate some real chocolate through it and a bit of orange zest! Makes it taste like chocolate orange but will still kill him with chemicals!

catsmother · 21/08/2013 20:05

I'd bloody well add chocolate Ex-Lax to the Angel Delight as well ......

canyou · 21/08/2013 20:07

hamlet good idea
cat I would be one of the nice people might eat it, and I like them

StElmo · 21/08/2013 20:32

What a rude thing to say! Give them Sara Lee cheesecake. In the box. Don't bother defrosting.
