to think that threads are getting rather violent during the summer holidays

Lots of very angry thread titles recently - bashing people to a pulp, hitting people, slapping, thumping etc. I've never noticed before. Is it a result of having the children home, hot weather or is it no more than normal and I just haven't noticed?

It's because people are running out of money and patience.

It's generally a turn of phrase rather than what people will do. My mum used to say 'I'll bloody throttle you!' when we were naughty but we knew she didn't mean it. It just meant 'you're getting on my nerves'. I've never known so many over sensitive types as I've come across on here. It really is another planet at times.
