To be disproportionately angry with man in BMW and window cleaner?

I know I have no rights to complain but I feel a rant is needed...

BMW Man, I am sure he's very nice though I don't actually care because he insists on parking on our road every day sometimes his car is there for days without moving.

It's a road and I have no rights to it or who parks on it..HOWEVER. There are 8 cars that park on our road 9 now he is parking. You can park on both sides though it's a bit of a squeeze mainly because the lady 3 doors down can't park and needs 4 foot in front of her to drive straight out so instead of being able to park 4 cars on that road you can only get 3.

So now 1 car has to park across the road but now Mr Beemer has adopted our road and parks his in such a way that it's a very tight squeeze for any other car owner that lives here.

It has nothing to do with me, I can still park but as the title suggests I get really pissed off with him. I wish he'd fuck off and park on the road he lives on.

Then there's the window cleaner, dh has been having windows cleaned for yonks we live in a town house and every time he arrives a regular sweeping brush with hose attached is shoved against the window and the window 'brushed'. I don't think a cleaning product is used because the windows are always still smeary and look like shit.

I just wish people would park with more consideration and the window cleaner would either clean our windows or just stop altogether.

YABU to have two AIBUs in one Grin

Jan49 · 21/08/2013 13:54

The second problem is easily solved: tell the window cleaner you don't require their services any more.

wishingchair · 21/08/2013 13:55

Put note on BMW man's car asking him not to park there as he's stopping residents being able to park.

Fire your window cleaner and get another one.

Done!

WorraLiberty · 21/08/2013 14:03

Put note on BMW man's car asking him not to park there as he's stopping residents being able to park.

Fuck that for a liberty!

He can park wherever he likes as long as it's legal.

attheendoftheday · 21/08/2013 14:03

Not much you can do about BMW man.

We have also had a window cleaner with those brush things. They are shit.

acer12 · 21/08/2013 14:24

I think I can solve the window cleaner issue...my window cleaner uses same thing it sounds like. Apparently the water is treated to stop sud marks on windows. Hmm

peppapigsmummy · 21/08/2013 15:18

^ Once a man came to my house leaflet-ing (sp?) his window cleaning business.

I agreed, his 'water system' sounded great.

two days later an unmarked rusty small van screeched up outside my house. Man got out. teen lad got out.....then out jumped two more teenage lads from the back of the van Hmm

Bucket of water and a sweepy brush. A hose....

Windows looked shift. little pikeys demanded I make them all tea (very intimidating and I was alone and heavily pregnant) Left my toilet seat up after making it their business to use my loo and then charged me 30 quid.

I made dh call him and tell him not to come again. eurgh it was awful.

peppapigsmummy · 21/08/2013 15:19

shift. ..shit!

TylerHopkins · 21/08/2013 15:27

I love the OP's double rant. If you can't let off steam on Mumsnet then where can you.

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 15:32

Same here, Tyler - Although I'm left wondering whether it is actually permissible, in the way that if you go to our GP about your bunions, you're not allowed to seek advice regarding your dodgy back in the same appointment.....

Lweji · 21/08/2013 15:34

Anything else you are angry about/with, OP?

Come on. Off load.

you have to tell the window cleaner.

you are employing him for a job and if he's not doing it, then you need to tell him.

Ifcatshadthumbs · 21/08/2013 15:38

Ooh peppy I wonder if you had my old window cleaner? He had a van full of teens and one day asked for tea which ended up being "2 teas no sugar, 1 tea with one sugar, two coffees, one black with sugar, now white without and 2 cold drinks please"

I was Shock and just stood there, he then said I'll write it down love so you don't mess it up! After a couple of months I saw them coming and put a note on the door saying please don't clean the windows anymore we can't afford it! (Wimpy I know)

GrimmaTheNome · 21/08/2013 15:39

I often ask about more than one thing at the GPs - much more efficient, they don't mind.

Sack the window smearer. Or tell him that you won't pay him unless he actually cleans the windows.

Nowt you can do about Beamer Man. Maybe he's been displaced from his road by Chelsea Tractor Woman - its a bit hard to imagine a BMW driver walking further than he had to if he could help it.

shma · 21/08/2013 15:43

Get the window cleaner to smear the windows on the BMW instead, problems should then sort themselves out.

peppapigsmummy · 21/08/2013 15:44

Teanedward I wish. Just a two bed semi :-/

I laugh about it now but honestly didn't know what to do at the time!

Floggingmolly · 21/08/2013 15:44

£30 round here too. I had it done once, and once only.

ViviPru · 21/08/2013 15:51

LOVE shma's suggestion Grin

its a bit hard to imagine a BMW driver walking further than he had to if he could help it.

Au contraire. DH parks the PruMobile in virtually a different postcode to the entrance of Tescos so he can situate it it in the middle of a line of empty spaces, he doesn't trust the proles not to bang their doors into the side.

Total waste of time, there are more scratches and dings on the thing caused by my carefree approach to motoring than any fellow car park user could hope to inflict

roundtable · 21/08/2013 15:52

God, I pay £6 and I live in the se!

Sack the window cleaner and flick the v's at the bmw whenever you see it. Childish but very satisfying!!

FastWindow · 21/08/2013 15:53

What is it with window cleaners? Had one once that charged 7 quid, did a great job, I was very happy. Took him about twenty minutes. Never saw him (or anyone else, so it can't have been a turf war) again. Why??

For £21 quid an hour I'm considering a career change. Where do you live op? Grin

Tittypulumpcious · 21/08/2013 16:05

I apparently can't sack him because he is an old friend of dh..and I do have one other thing to moan about, dh husband has let his daughter drink all the fecking Elderflower cordial.

I like a glass with sparkling water and as we had run out I bought a naice bottle from Waitrose only to find when I returned from a day out, dsd had yaffled all but an inch. Nearly £4 that cost!!!!

I really want to close the blinds enough so BMW wanker man can't see me but shout through them and the open window 'park in your own road' in fact I tempted to park where he parks if he ever goes out in it.

So petty...feel better for that!
