Black dress and shoes?

Having a row with my dad he thinks you shouldn't wear black to a christening, especially your own child's

I think wearing black is absolutely fine, Black is sophisticated and hides a multitude of sins , we are in the 21st century where anything goes. I say its your daughters christening and you should wear what you want!!

I wore black to my daughters christening, was particularly porky at the time, so covered a multitude of sins!

I wear black everywhere, weddings, everywhere. The last wake I went to, we were asked not to wear black. Times have changed. YANBU.

I am also particularly porky at the moment!

Thanks all I think I will be wearing black

WHat's it got to do with your Dad??!! Maybe if it was DP, but it's YOUR daughters christening, wear what you like and are comfortable in. I'm sure God won't mind (with the greatest respect) and neither will your DD! Have a great time.
