Dd ha a problem with her front teeth - thy have banding which makes them week and subsequently her teeth have chipped badly.
They have been filled a few times.
On Friday one front filling came out leaving a sharp edge.
Managed I get her to out of hours dentist who questioned me on diet/ drinks & said she thought it my be infected as discoloured ( its been like this since it came through)
She put a tiny filling in, leaving her with a big gap between the front teeth
An I being unreasonable to insist on seeing my dentist today to get it rectified?
She's 3 by the way

They won't mind seeing her at all IME (I work for a dentist)

I'm a dentist. Restoring anterior primary teeth is always tricky. It's usually just a patch up job until they exfoliate.

Yes..I meant they wouldn't mind seeing her to tell you that tbh Grin

Thanks

Sorry..didn't mean to be flippant..it must be bad to see her with the gap in her wee perfect teeth so sympathies.

I am maybe just flippant as my DD is 6 and losing and gaining teeth left right and centre so has big and small teeth which look like they were just thrown in her mouth as they haven't aligned yet :)

If it was just the bottom bit chipped I'd leave it but the gap goes from top to bottom & a bit from each tooth missing so looks awful!
My ds with 2 top teeth missing looks fine as I know they'll be new ones soon - where as at 3 she has another 3-4tears of gappy-ness!

They can maybe try to patch it up again..not sure...worth asking maybe?

My DD had an accident at nursery resulting in one of her top teeth being knocked out. She had a gap from age 3 until she got her adult teeth. It was fine - we just got used to it. You could take her to get advice but they may just leave it until it comes out naturally.

I'm unsure what you mean, has the tooth actually split? Is she in any pain or are you worried about the aesthetics only?

devonsmummy · 19/08/2013 15:31

She was crying uncontrollably last night saying her tooth felt soft?

The dentist has previously said they'd patch up as long as there was enough tooth left to do so.

The emergency dentist just put a tiny filling along the edge - not closing the gap as our dentist does.
I'm worried it will be more prone to chipping again as it doesn't have the extra support of the next tooth.

I've got an appointment for 4pm so hopefully be resolved shortly
