To be annoyed he ate my last chocolate?

OH bought me a box of chocolates, ate probably a third of them himself, I had the rest. I went to get the last one from the fridge and it was gone. I am quite annoyed and as he bought them for me I would have expected him to ask first. AIBU?

It's one chocolate - unless it was your favourite kind and you were saving it especially, that's just life!

Ireallymustbemad · 16/08/2013 10:14

YANBU. He should only eat them after asking. Unless of course he bought them for you to share, not as a gift to you?

ellie19812 · 16/08/2013 10:16

It was my favourite. They were definitely for me as a gift rather than for us to share specifically.

Kill. Him.

DamnBamboo · 16/08/2013 10:19

Then make him pay.... by buying you another box that he promises not to go hear Smile

KnittyGritty · 16/08/2013 10:19

May I be the first to say ltb Wink

lottiegarbanzo · 16/08/2013 10:21

Well I know the answer to this one! He should only have eaten your chocolates when offered, not taken any, at all.

hardbeingme · 16/08/2013 10:22

who leaves any one chocolate?

nipersvest · 16/08/2013 10:22

yanbu. i almost divorced dh when he ate the segment from my chocolate orange that had the centre bit attached. i was deliberately saving that, it is the best bit of the orange.

i've never felt the same about dh since that day.

ellie19812 · 16/08/2013 10:43

Thanks ladies, I'm glad it's not just me who finds this completely unacceptable :-) hopefully he won't do it again.

Now I want to go and but chocolates.

mrsminiverscharlady · 16/08/2013 11:34

I'd make him go and get you some more! The rule in this house is that 'personal' chocolates are by invitation only. That reminds me, must go and eat the last Guylian my parents gave us both before DH gets home...

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 16/08/2013 11:39

Kill him. With fire! Grin
I hate this kind of behaviour! I woke up the other morning with an intense craving for fudge. I went to all of the trouble of making a batch, and DS and DP ate the LOT! I was disgusted!

lurkingaround · 16/08/2013 11:40

I like that rule 'personal chocolates are by invitation only', and am going to adopt it forthwith. A cool rule.

YANBU. Totally unacceptable behaviour by your OH. I too have had humdingers of rows with DH over this kind of thing. And I speak from bitter experience: he WILL do it again. Adopt the mrsminiverscharlady rule asap!

YouTheCat · 16/08/2013 11:41

Nads in a vice! Terrible behaviour!

whois · 16/08/2013 11:42

I did that to DPs chocolate orange. He was NOT impressed...

DeepPurple · 16/08/2013 11:46

DH's friend came to stay one night so they could go to their work Christmas party. His friend bought me a lovely box of chocolates that I left on the coffee table. In the morning I came down and only the coffee ones were left. I hate coffee ones. I was so mad! This was 6 years ago. I still haven't forgotten it!

DH did replace them and hasn't dared touch my chocolate again. [stern look]

lurkingaround · 16/08/2013 11:52

Appalling behaviour whois. Shock The whole world knows the middle is the best bit. Grin
