I have name changed as this could out me. Yesterday I saw a nappy Bin on facebook freebies. It's the type that you put the nappy in a shoot at the top and the lid swings round trapping the nappy and all the smells.
I snapped it up quickly and I was really impressed with it. Was going to be so useful with one child in nappies full time and one part time. It is quite big but it just fit in the corner of our bathroom.
Anyway I didn't mention it to dh as I didn't think I need to. When he got home he saw it and moaned about me wasting money on stuff we don't need. (to dc not me as I was downstairs at the time) Anyway the kids pointed out it was free but he still moaned that we don't need it. I pointed out the advantages but I don't think he was convinced.
Maybe it's because I change about 90 per cent of the nappies that he doesn't realise how smelly they are.
AIBU to have got it.

Of course not. You didn't spend any money and even if you had, you shouldn't have to consult him for every tiny purchase.

YANBU

If you are on a tight budget and you had spent money on it he would have had a point as they are non-essential. Putting them in plastic bags and leaving them in another room or putting them outside the back door til I can get to the bin works for me and costs nothing.

But when he realized it was free he should have backed down, he's just being a tool really because he doesn't want to admit he was wrong.

You know what sofia I think that's exactly it.

YANBU

It was free. You're actually going to use it.
I could see a problem if you had paid for it as its a non-essential, really. I'd considered one for DD but I'd much rather spend the money elsewhere!
Just ignore.

In fact I think this is going to save money. Only need a cheap bin liner and no nappy sacks. Plus the time saving.

Don't make me jealous Shock
To be honest, if I were having a moan about someone buying something then found out it was free...I'd continue moaning as I don't like being wrong Grin Grin
