To fantasise about other people?

Name-changed, obviously!

Me and DP have been together for years and are good friends. He works away in the week and has for the past year and I have built up some serious fantasies about unsuitable people/situations for when I'm home alone Blush. I don't think about them when with DP or discuss them with him. When we were together every night I didn't though.

AIBU? Should I start self-flagellating or something?

Wooooo,no you are not being unreasonable....

thebody · 13/08/2013 11:17

thought everyone did this to be honest. word of warning though, best not to share it with dh.. secret pleasures and all that. 😆

JessicaBeatriceFletcher · 13/08/2013 11:20

Horses for courses. Personally, I have never fantasised about anyone else when I am in a relationship, only when single. Doesn't mean you're wrong because you do.

squoosh · 13/08/2013 11:23

Everyone does this, it's called having an imagination. No such thing as fantasy cheating.

P.S. I'll bet you 20 English pence that your DP is having fantasies that don't involve you.

LimitedEditionLady · 13/08/2013 11:54

Yeah life would be a bit boring without the old imagination..as long as your fantasy stays a fantasy then all is gravy.

Naughty0Naughty · 13/08/2013 11:59

Hurray, I'm normal!

And sqoosh I'd bet more than that!

OP posts:
LimitedEditionLady · 13/08/2013 12:56

You might not be normal still....

SmiteYouWithThunderbolts · 13/08/2013 12:57

I've been having a torrid affair with Chris Hemsworth for months now. In my mind anyway....

MissMuesli · 13/08/2013 12:57

I don't fantasize about anyone, my mind just doesn't let me -I prefer porn

LimitedEditionLady · 13/08/2013 13:19

Miss mursli but its much more fun to make your own mind porn Shock

LimitedEditionLady · 13/08/2013 13:19

John richardson,youre all mine...

KellyElly · 13/08/2013 13:47

It's normal. It starts from when you are a teen if you think about it with bands, movie stars, friends older brothers etc.

Sallystyle · 13/08/2013 13:49

I don't do this. Been with my Husband for 7 years.

I see nothing wrong with it, perfectly normal but it isn't something I have ever been able to do.

I guess my imagination sucks.

Sallystyle · 13/08/2013 13:51

And I know I am the abnormal one.

LimitedEditionLady · 13/08/2013 14:08

Been with mine 9 samu, probably why i do it hahaha

peteypiranha · 13/08/2013 14:46

Me and dh both do this, and tell each other. We point out people the other one would like. Its just a fun game, and definitely no harm in it.

MissMuesli · 13/08/2013 15:26

I agree I lack imagination! If not thought my mind wanders to housework, shopping etc..,

MalcolmTuckersMistress · 13/08/2013 16:03

A massive TARDIS gang bang with Doctors 9,10,11 AND 12 with Philip Glenister there too just or the hell of it.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 13/08/2013 16:07

Completely normal. What happens in your own head is no one else's business thank god or I would be in big trouble

Yup. Me too.

Naughty0Naughty · 13/08/2013 16:29

Private pleasure Naughty, quite right.

I doubt you want to hear what he'd like to do to Kelly Brook's baps.

AlpacaPicnic · 13/08/2013 16:33

'Self flagellating'

Never heard it called that before...

muppetthecow · 13/08/2013 16:43

YA so NBU! Luckily I have a very understanding DH as I talk in my sleep Hmm I'm fairly sure he's been having a torrid fantasy affair with Angelina Jolie since before we were married though, so it's all good Wink

I remember when I was about 13 my sister asked my dad if it bothered him that mum kept making comments about Patrick Stewart's bottom. He replied "I really don't care who pumps the tyres, it's me that gets to ride the bike". I don't think I've ever been so squicked out in my entire life! Grin
