Until recently, I had 3 jobs; job 1 - Saturday and Sunday, total of 12 hours, job 2 - Thursday 1pm til 8pm, job 3 - Monday to Friday 9.30am til 11.30am. These three jobs together made me the equivalent of a full time job at minimum wage and fitted in nicely with regards to childcare etc.
Job 1 has now been made redundant, so I am searching for something else to replace it. The other 2 jobs are fairly flexible, and I could change the shifts if need be, but would need to be able to give, particularly employer 2, a set shift with plenty of notice.
Every single bloody job I've seen so far says something along the lines of, "12 hours per week, to be worked on a flexible basis, between 7am and 9pm Monday to Sunday", which makes it very hard to fit around other jobs/childcare etc. I am flexible when I can work, as job 2 just wants one late shift a week, not bothered which day as there's plenty of staff to shift around, and job 3 just wants me for 2 hours a day, not bothered which 2 hours, but I would need to know!
Just having a rant really, as it seems so hard to find something with set hours! Is this how everywhere operates nowadays? AIBU to just want set days/hours, or am I being picky?
