To try and flirt with the gorgeous courier

Ok so I don't know if this is a bit weird or stalkerish and sorry if its waffle.

Earlier this week I had some stuff delivered online and the guy who delivered it was gorgeous. I think he's been here before. We were laughing at my tiny dog who goes crazy when people come to the door and he seemed like one of those people who's friendly and makes chit chat.

So I closed the door, thought wow he was fit, opened my parcel and realized they split the order so there'd be another sent soon. He came back the next day, very friendly again, remembered my name etc. ( I was a bit cringey and said something about the shop being a waste on the environment sending two parcels.)

Am I a weird if I try a bit of flirting if he delivers anything else soon? I realize he could just be a friendly person who is happily with someone. I've heard of people meeting through chance encounters (my friends Mum married her postman). I'm not usually attracted to people straight away.

Are you single?

Fairylea · 11/08/2013 21:01

If you're single, go for it :)

Could get a bit expensive though if you keep having to order things to keep him turning up!

Rooners · 11/08/2013 21:05

We have got a gorgeous courier too. Grin

It's not arseholeforce Parcelforce is it?

Fwiw I've had the same guy for about 7-8 years and I am fairly sure he is this nice to everyone. Sadly.

Rooners · 11/08/2013 21:05

You may end up looking like a dick if he doesn't feel the same and that could mean awkward parcel deliveries in future, iyswim...

I would wait for him to make a move, which he will, if he is interested.

Yes I'm single, haven't been with anyone since DD's Dad so I'm not used to thinking like this.

Well it was clothes I ordered for DD and its free returns so I do need to return something and get smaller size. Was going to do it instore but could do it online. Hmm

Not sure where he's from Rooners, I'll check my emails next time and see if it says.

I know, I probably would look really really stupid and he probably is just being nice. If I say anything I was thinking of saying it in a really jokey way. Don't want my house to be blacklisted as the sex pest woman or something!

Don't worry, he will be very very used to it but try and keep it hidden if you like him.

Otherwise yes it will look v obvious Sad

I feel for you.

poachedeggs · 11/08/2013 21:16

Just ask him if he fancies a drink sometime FGS! You won't look stupid, he'll either say yes in which case you make a date and live happily ever after or he'll say no/he's seeing someone etc but he'll be flattered and you have nothing to be embarrassed about. :)

I'm only 25 and I've turned into the desperate lady who hits on workmen and delivery men haven't I? [Blush]

Wish I had that confidence poachedeggs!

He might not say anything as he's the one at work.

I vote for the 'we have to stop meeting like this... The neighbours will talk'. See if he responds then say, ' if you fancy a drink sometime it would save me a fortune on ordering parcels!'

Nothing ventured. But I'd be cacking it OP so good luck!

Nyla · 11/08/2013 21:32

Thanks PuggyMum, that's a good idea. In my head I know what to say but knowing me it will come out embaressing. I think the second time I signed the thing I just did a random scribble.

Look, you don't need confidence. I'm a dowdy socially inept thirty-something, but if I was single and fancied someone in that context even I would find a way to say something. How often are you going to see him? Every few weeks for a moment or two?

Do you have to sign for parcels on a machine or paper? If it's a sheet for signatures, write your number Grin

AlyssB · 11/08/2013 21:49

I met my DH on the bus, and we've been together 3 years now, so I say go for it!! My DF always says if you don't ask you don't get, so at least you know you tried even if it dosnt work out!

Nyla · 11/08/2013 21:58

Like your style poachedeggs, unfortunately it's the electronic one. If I do have to have another delivery I will be prepared to say something, luckily get a dispatch email so won't be in pj's or something!

That's nice Alyss, I like hearing things like that. My Grandparents met on the bus too and were together for over 60 years.
