Mil staying with us since Wednesday. Hates swearing on tv ( but says bloody in every sentence ) thus after 9 pm we are restricted in tv viewing. We ask her what she wants to watch, board games etc. constant response is "I don't watch tv/play board games etc"

She is currently snoozing in arm chair, but wakes every 5 mins or so. Just wish she would go to bed do we can watch mrs browns boys!!! Aibu?

Put the swearing programmes on (Mrs Brown's Boys is ideal) and she will go to bed quicker surely?? Grin

YouTheCat · 10/08/2013 23:14

Watch what you want if she's not putting forward any other ideas. Then she'll go to bed in disgust. Grin

I feel for you.
my dparents are here for a visit and the evenings consis of watching tv. which in reality is me watching and them snoozing and jumping every 10 min to ask me what has happened.
I vacated the living room so they can set up bed (on the sofa in living room). they have to get up first, though.

When we have the same problem we put HIGNFY or Mock the Week on. Last time they spent the first 10 min slagging off UKIP and she went to bed in disgust.

Result.

Sorry OP.

If it doesn't work you could try the MIL Whisperer.

(Runs away in shame)
