Dd went round to a friend today for a play for about an hour. Dd is 6. Few weeks ago friend mentioned literally every mark Ds had got for his end of year report (year 1) and asked what Dd had. I told her as she kept going on about it. She told me the next day that as my Dd did better than her Ds she had told him that Dd was now his competition. Later asked what schoolwork I would do with Dd during summer hols as she wanted her Ds to do the same.

told me today that Dd had done her timestables with her I'm a bit pissed off that she went round for a play and was "tested" on her knowledge!! It's the fucking summer holidays!!! So Aibu
to feel this way??

YANBU, she sounds a bit mad tbh.

Yes you should be pissed off with this woman.

Tell her you're not happy with her behaviour and your dd won't be going round to play if she's going to be such a pillock.

Bloody hell, that woman is setting herself up for disappointment if she starts comparing her child against others. It's the kid I feel sorry for. I bet he'll grow up thinking nothing he does is good enough!

She sounds a bit intense and I do think her ds will have a tough time. But for your ds as its only once in a while can you try to look at it as free tutorial g? If you don't get competitive then hopefully she'll back off eventually but if not at least it's a testament to how smart your ds must be.

And Dd was only there for an hour and a half!
