Not to open up the Hoover?

DS age 5 has been hoovering in his room this morning - good boy Wink

He has accidentally hoovered up a drawing pin for the cork board he puts his school artwork on.

He is currently screaming blue murder because I won't open up the Hoover and fish it out. When I go to work tonight I can get him a drawing pin from there but apparently that won't be the same so it's not good enough.

So AIBU? Should I root through dead skin, hair and fluff for a perfectly replaceable drawing pin?

Am I a terrible mother? Apparently I have let him down and he doesn't love me anymore! Grin

As long as you don't put him off hoovering next time then YANBU. Or you could let him do it himself, in the garden.
