Some silly cow has left their dog in it and fucked off shopping.

It's a pug and its setting the alarm off and looking not happy. It's too warm to do this :(

I've called the police but its been 45 minutes

Break in if it looks distressed.

No doubt in my mind.

Bloody fools. They deserve to be shut in themselves.

Happiestinwellybobs · 27/07/2013 09:51

Did you call 999 or non emergency number? I'm sure the RSPCA say call 999. Is it ata supermarket. Get them to tannoy the reg. and say police have been called.

If all else fails smash the window.

VivaLeBeaver · 27/07/2013 09:52

Are the windows open at all?

I'd break in. I'd ring the police back and tell them that's what I was doing first.

YouStayClassySanDiego · 27/07/2013 09:52

Poor little pug Sad, hope the police get there quick.

Buzzardbird · 27/07/2013 09:53

You have a hammer?

thistlelicker · 27/07/2013 09:53

Silly person leaving dog in car!!! Maybe she should be locked up in the heat!Shock

peachactiviaminge · 27/07/2013 09:54

Break in. Without a doubt before the poor animal dies a horrific death. Cars get very hot very fast.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/07/2013 09:54

Windows open an inch. It's opposite my house, not in a supermarket.

It's still in shade-ish but its already 20 degrees here (Hertfordshire).

It's an hour since the car was left and 30 minutes since I called them.

I'm not allowed to though am I? Criminal damage ?

Call the 999 and say it is now urgent as the dog is looking really distressed and ask their advice. Say you need to act NOW in your opinion.

Figgygal · 27/07/2013 09:55

Phone them again and tell them it's urgent

HenriettaPye · 27/07/2013 09:56

Break the window. The poor thing will die of heat stroke. Or go in the supermarket and get them to call out over the tannoy that registration xxxxx needs to go back to the car immediately.

frogwatcher42 · 27/07/2013 09:56

Posted before I had finished ....

Say you need to act NOW in your opinion so ask them can you break in.

VivaLeBeaver · 27/07/2013 09:56

You could do it and deny it was you?

Temp could be 47 in the car already!

HenriettaPye · 27/07/2013 09:57

Oops- just read its NOT in a supermarket- read that totally wrong!! Wink

Just break the window- the wee dog will thank you for it

ZillionChocolate · 27/07/2013 09:57

Is it worth seeing if the window can be forced down? Not sure if it would work, but might be better than broken glass everywhere.

Can you knock on neighbours' doors to see if its their visitor? In what circumstances are people likely to park in your street?

frogwatcher42 · 27/07/2013 09:57

If the owner is simply called on tannoy or if police call her on her phone (I think they can get owners details including phone numbers) it won't teach her a lesson. What really needs to happen is that the police break in and take the dog and she has to pay to get it back.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/07/2013 09:57

Sad Poor dog. I would ring the police back and see what they say

Or get neighbours to join you and break it together - about 4 or 5 of you so you all take joint resonsibility. It would be much more difficult to prosecute you all.

LaurieFairyCake · 27/07/2013 10:00

She's back. I've told her off a lot and surprisingly she wasn't rude to me - she was apologetic when I said I'd called the police.

Shaking like a leaf though - confrontation is horrible - even though I I was just really firm with her.

What an idiot. I would call back police and then break the window if too much longer. Sad

Montybojangles · 27/07/2013 10:01

Call the RSPCA 0300 1234 999 and call the police back.

grumpalumpgrumped · 27/07/2013 10:01

cross posts

Montybojangles · 27/07/2013 10:02

Sorry, took too long finding RSPCA number! Stupid woman, who leaves their dog in the car like that?

mignonette · 27/07/2013 10:03

Do it. A small dog has even less ability to cope. And a pug has restricted breathing anyway due to the inhumanity of breeders over time.

Can you pour any water through the gap in the window into its mouth?
